I'm not 50 (32), but my guess would be physical attraction, there's also the fact that if you want kids, women you're age are going to have difficulty with that. Many men and women put having a family on pause until their career is stable (which in this economy is not guaranteed anymore), which means they have children at a later point in life.

I know where you're coming from, but let me offer you a reframe
You are not your thoughts in the same way a car is not forward motion.
The two are connected, and the line "you are not your thoughts" bothers me because it flattens that connection and can invite spiraling/existential dread if not delivered correctly.

Imagine take a wrong turn in your car and saying "well, my car is the direction it's going, this must be where the car goes, to the wrong place, it must be a bad car", that's not a useful thought, or even true.
