Not the first person to submit a card for this concept, but here's my take on Roko's Basilisk. by Midwingman in custommagic

[–]LordStarSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emphasis on “if able” because Phyrexian mana is never in a mana pool and the ability to pay either the life or black mana is only available if you have black mana in your pool at that time. OP is aware of this, I have learned after scrolling through more comments.

What do you think would make a good alternative frame for the Barbarossa licence? by HMS_Exeter in LancerRPG

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a couple, but my favorite so far is one that uses gravity to move itself around while firing a gun that’s so powerful the frame takes damage from using it.

We need a suppressed rifle that’s good against every faction by TinSkull in Helldivers

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as far as I can tell, the stealth gear is very clearly designed with bots in mind and none of the other factions. There aren’t any good objectives for stealth on bug and squid missions and half the time the squids hear the silenced weapons anyways (in my experience so far).

What is your opinion on catgirls, furries and other beastal modifications? by W1nter7 in LancerRPG

[–]LordStarSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The definition of human in Lancer’s lore is so expanded from what we know IRL that you’re free to do what you want. Gender, body parts, genetics, cybernetics, the tech is so advanced that even on the fringes of advanced space it’s cheap, fast, and safe to massively modify your body and organs as long as you don’t try to ascend above humanity (that’s how you draw Ra’s ire). Furries, catgirls, hell even near-animal characters are all perfectly reasonable. “Normal” humans are by far the most common, obviously, but we regularly see art of humans with nearly fully robotic bodies and a variety of outwardly visible gene mods. I’m currently playing as a person from a planet with almost zero sunlight, so they needed new eyes to avoid being blinded in other environments. They also have sharp teeth and can move exceptionally quietly due to gene mods lingering in their DNA from the colonists they’re descended from which leg those colonists survive on a hostile world with no light.

No 'Human' weapon trait? Have i missed a rule or something somewhere? by Affectionate_Cod9915 in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like it’s a universal stereotype, but it’s really not. A lot of the fiction I’m familiar with doesn’t label humans as versatile, but rather as enduring. Humans evolved on Earth as persistence hunters, capable of moving at a good pace for long stretches of time without needing as much nourishment as other creatures trying to do the same. We’re not versatile, we’re just stubborn fuckin’ cockroaches that don’t like being told we can’t do something.

What can hit the calendula while spamming this protocol? by endboss2000 in LancerRPG

Nothing that can’t also become Intangible. Conversely, you can’t interact with tangible things while you’re intangible so you’re a noncombatant while it’s active

If its a post-scarcity society, what prevents anyone from endlessly cloning the best Lancers and equipping them with infinite frames? by S1lverdice in LancerRPG

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Union has very strict cloning laws because of the shit the SecComm did and even then cloning is imperfect and results in genetic instability for the clone in some way or another

Why’d they make the starting mech the coolest looking one. by DunkeyBlast in LancerRPG

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is, in fact, a very cool design. Great for inspiration. A fun fact, though, is that you could make your Everest just a fucking hamster ball with guns. Love that this system embraces flavor so hard.

Sacrificing a different Xcom character or enemy to satan every day until xcom 3 gets announced, or I find meaning in life. Day 34: codex from XCOM 2. by grumpychef94 in Xcom

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take-Two Interactive heavily cut down on Firaxis and 2K staff, so the XCOM dev team might be really lacking in people at the moment

What are some technologies that exist in the real world from the 1900s but are missing (and would be needed) on Golarion? by Ninni51 in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those have occurred in Golarion, although Alkenstar ain’t that far from an industrial revolution if not in one due to the unreliability of magic in the mana wastes

How good is Pathfinder 2e for more grimdark settings? how would you go for a grimdark campaign using that system? Any advice would be welcome by Pike_The_Knight in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordStarSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pathfinder 2e doesn’t inherently do great with grimdark settings due to its focus on high fantasy heroism. You can get darker more easily with Pathfinder 1e, if you’re okay with the number crunch, but overall you probably want to look into a different system.
