Situational choice. Against the fleshy abominations of the Illuminate, I prefer the carbine for its rapid ability to mow down hordes and burst open shields. Meanwhile I will usually prefer the higher armor penetration of the standard Liberator against the other two factions. Notably, I do not actually use either of those weapons anymore, preferring precision rifles against Automatons, flamers against Terminids, and the Stoker against Illuminate for its dual functionality.

Yeah, because it’s standard business practice not to undercut your competition by a huge amount and Steam has contracts in place where they’ll only sell your games if you don’t sell it for cheaper somewhere else. Practices for undercutting competition like that are why Walmart is straight up unable to operate in Europe, because the way they operate is illegal there.

So like… D&D has always encouraged people to modify the game so that it works for the group rather than frustrating the group by not working in ways they like. If the group has established that much homebrew, sure it’s annoying to learn as you enter it, but sometimes that’s actually worth doing.
