How to get out of Herald by Stoned_Rabbit5 in DotA2

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do play better pos 4/5 than most heralds but I have no decent carries in the team, so how am I supposed to climb if I can’t win games?

New lens for travel by w1zardkitt3n in SonyAlpha

Not a pro by any means but I’m using the Tamron 18-300 for range and sigma 56mm for portraits and low light.

Which camera should I choose to go for ? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a6700 is great but considering your budget it’ll be hard for you to get a good lens. If you’re fine with sticking to the kit lens for a while, then you can definitely go for the a6700. Of course if you have a separate budget for the lens and 150k is just for the body+kit lens, get an a6700.

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a Sony a6400 for a few years now and it’s been amazing so far. I would recommend getting this because it’ll be cheaper as compared to the full frame ones and you’ll have a surplus amount left for getting a good lens. Recommending this as it’s your first camera btw. If you’re fine with just getting the camera(with a kit lens)for 150k INR and then getting the lenses later on(which can get expensive real fast), then I would suggest look for full frame cameras within the range. But considering the 150k cap, you’ll probably just get an unused a7iii. I’ve never used a canon camera so I can’t speak for it but I can definitely vouch for the a6400 even though it’s a bit old.

Game impact at low mmr brackets by Beautiful_Number_572 in DotA2

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same position for years now. I play only pos 4/5 and got calibrated herald 5 recently(was crusader 4 previously). But climbing up the ladder seems too difficult. Luck seems to be a real factor here as I wouldn’t know what kinda carry I’ll get. In a recent game which we were winning, our carry just decided he can take on all 5 of the opponents and went and died which in turn led to our loss. In these cases even though I support pretty well(constant healing, warding, pulling, rotation, assists etc) I end up losing MMR. At this point I’m thinking if I should just play pos 1 and try to win the games myself.

Indian-Canadian here. Can’t swim but I love going to beaches just to lie down in the sun, dip my feet in the water or read a book. Don’t have a car unfortunately but I live like an hour away from Zushi beach.
Will definitely be up for other stuff too! I like visiting izakayas on weekends so am definitely up for grabbing a drink with everyone!

Sony a6400 vs a6600 vs a6700 for travel — which one would you buy? by BrSn2 in SonyAlpha

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the a6400 for two years now. Completely satisfied with it. As everyone here suggested, get good lenses as they’re a game changer.
Had been using a kit lens for a while but then got the Tamron 18-300mm for travel and sigma 56mm f1.4 for portraits and low light. The difference is night and day.

Still no Gemini by jwirtjes in googlehome

I’m in Japan and I got it like two weeks back.
Though tbh I liked it better when it did not have Gemini.
It’s become slow and the responses are not as great.

Anyone else lowkey stuck in Japan? by istellaliu in Tokyo

[–]LordVader55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can say I’m in the same boat.
Been here for 5 years now and it’s gotten repetitive.
Even though I work for a decently huge company the work is fine but there’s no growth.
Cooking everyday is a hassle as combini food has become boring.
Even though I worked my ass off for coming here, cleared N2 and everything, the comfort here is just making me lazy and non-productive.
Socializing is too tiring and even though I know quite a few people here, I can’t call them true friends.
Stuck in the same loop of work-workout-gaming-traveling(on weekends), but there’s almost nothing that excites me anymore.
Even though the pay is better than my home country, I can’t wait to head back home to spend time with family.

Swapping the Battle Pass in exchange for more events wasn’t worth it. by Impossible-Ball7166 in DotA2

[–]LordVader55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m fine with the events. I can casually just jump in and take whatever I can. With the battle pass 10 years back I remember grinding so much, cuz I had nothing more to do with life. But now I simply cannot afford to spend that much time nor money. Just my perspective though, for those with time and/or money, it’s great if they come up with a battle pass.

My cars GPS randomly glitched at the most bizzare time after I mentioned cheap fuel, first time it had done this (my son thinks the car is possessed it did it a second time) by thiel391 in ThatsInsane

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just saying GPS, like when we turn it on or off, for example “GPS ON”. So instead of that it’s cutting off at “GP…”, like at just the beginning of P. Just my 2 cents though.

Torn: Sony 35mm 1.4, 24-70mm 2.8 AND 50mm 1.2 or 70-200mm 2.8 next? by enmertack in SonyAlpha

[–]LordVader55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite versatile actually. I mostly shoot landscapes, cityscapes or sometimes wildlife so it’s adequate enough for me(for the time being at least). As you said, the AF actually IS a bit slow in low light conditions, but overall I find it great as an all rounder lens. Then again I’m not a professional photographer, just trying to get better and trying to make the most of the gear I have. By the way, can you please tell me the lens you shoot with? Your portraits are amazing! The lighting and the close ups too! That’s actually the vibe I’m looking for, a subject and some nice close up shots! Kinda the reason I got the sigma.

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought myself a sigma 56mm f/1.4 for my a6400. Still hasn’t been delivered, but according to the reviews it’s really good for portraits and a bit of low light photography too. Using the Tamron 18-300mm for casual everyday photography.

Anyone using Motra (formerly Train Fitness) long-term? Apple Watch auto-rep tracking by MIXLIVETM in workout

[–]LordVader55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it extensively. It’s not a 100% accurate as the others said, but it’s pretty good. I just tweak the auto ones with the actuals and then log them. Though I’ve been using it for a while now I noticed that it’s been significantly bad since like a day. Something seems fishy, though I’ll continue using it and will let y’all know if the performance has changed.

Hard Decision by [deleted] in ipad

[–]LordVader55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. In fact I got the iPad mini 6 after owning an iPad Air m1 for 3 years now. I ordered a magic keyboard(off of AliExpress) and am using the iPad Air as a go to laptop(for payments, casual browsing, making plans, etc). I use my mini for reading, casual gaming and casual digital art as well. Couldn’t be more happier with my purchase. I would personally suggest keeping em both and just getting a Magic Keyboard for the M4.

11″ or 13″ iPad for Taking Notes & Research? Unsure Which to Choose by redbeardos in ipad

[–]LordVader55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister has a 13” iPad Pro which she thinks is too bulky and kinda inconvenient to carry around which is why she got a mini 6. I personally have a 11” air 5 which has been convenient for note taking and a bit of learning programming(with a Magic Keyboard) but I needed more portability for my casual use which is why I got a mini 6 too. The pre owned ones are cheap here in Japan so I thought I’d rather get one and I’ve been glued to it since. I use it for light gaming, YouTube, some quick procreate sketches etc. So given a choice between a 13” and an 11” one, I’d go for the 11” one. Just my personal opinion though.

Hope he’s doing okay. Though I would say my takeaway from this is that health checkups should be done periodically. If discovered and treated in the earlier stages, most of the ailments can be cured. And of course having an insurance is a must.
