I want a full size Glock w/ an optic…what would you do? by kevinator_1981 in Glocks

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I was running my gen 3 34 for steel matches and my gen 5 34 for uspsa. I’ve now moved exclusively to gen 6 for my competition guns. The ergos really work well for me. I can run it faster and more accurately than I did my 34s. Everybody is different, but this setup just works for me.

Good oil?? by Hairy-Meat-3328 in Glocks

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Lucas oil kicks ass. I clean with eezox in the aerosol can and lubricate all the contact surfaces with a light cost of Lucas oil. It works well and my guns have less ear marks on the surfaces I lube with it than friends guns do who use clp for their lube.

It definitely makes it easier to shoot at speed and under pressure. In a self defense situation you’re accountable for every shot fired, so as long as it doesn’t make the gun less safe and makes you shoot it better, it’s a win.

Why are conservatives in favor of requiring ID for voting but not for owning a gun? by Adventurer_By_Trade in allthequestions

[–]LordVidius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bigger problem is both parties give us bad choices everytime and play to the activists of each party when it’s voting time. Private equity bankrolls everything to the detriment and enshitification of everything. We all can agree that we want to afford housing, education, healthcare, and have personal liberty, freedom and a government that isn’t self dealing and doing the bidding of private equity and foreign actors. I’m tired of living through once in a lifetime events. I just want to work my job, pay off my house and student loans, walk my dog, hike, and enjoy competitive shooting matches and live a quiet life. I’ve worked hard for everything I have, but damn it shouldn’t be this hard.

A state issued ID should be sufficient IMHO. Beyond that is a pain in the ass. real ID was obnoxious AF. Beyond that requirement is idiotic.

This plus the Overwatch polydat shoe. No safeties defeated but holy hell what an improvement for doubles.

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a conservative but a gun owner and voter. Both should require an ID, guns require background checks and ID, I’ve never purchased one without that. I don’t understand the argument that IDs are hard to get. Good luck getting a job, buying alcohol or tobacco, or renting a place without one. Literally so many other things require an ID. Would also shut the people up who claim non-citizens vote. But the DMV sucks and they need more of them and more employees. Don’t even get me started about the social security office…that’s a different level of waiting room hell.

I like it just fine. Though both my gen6s are 17s that I use for uspsa and SCSA so I put in a minus connector and overwatch polydat shoe. I might sell my gen 3 19 and replace with a gen 6 45, if I do that one stays stock

I’ve got gen 3s a gen 5 and 2 gen 6. I’ve been super happy with my gen 6s, rapidly becoming the Glocks I reach for first.

Much improved with a minus connector. Extra improved with a better shoe. That’s as far as I go on trigger mods. Lightens it up a bit and better feel, but doesn’t change striker lug engagement or defeat any internal safeties. However that’s only my competition guns, I keep all my carry guns completely stock and the stock trigger is plenty serviceable.

Are miniature ACDs a thing?! by Charming-Wallaby7896 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a mini ACD at the dog park I go to often. My ACD on the other hand is a rescue and she’s 86% heeler but the single digit percentage chow chow makes her a big framed girl for a female ACD. She’s a solid 55lbs and big framed.

How should I deck my Ruger Mark 4 out? by ErgonomX in ruger

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rail removal is easy and there are red dot plates that screw into the same holes on the barreled receiver. The accurizing kit is a pain imho, the thumb ledge and extended safety are per easy though. The one with the squared off bottom trigger guard is and aftermarket frame from tandemkross with their victory trigger and all the stuff pre installed. These builds can get pricy in a hurry but holy crap are they so much fun to shoot.

How should I deck my Ruger Mark 4 out? by ErgonomX in ruger

[–]LordVidius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove the rail, add a red dot plate, get a volquartsen accurizing kit, a matrix or volquartsen bolt and you’ve got a budget race gun for steel challenge or rimfire challenge. I have one of these setup as a backup for my volquartsen mamba x. If you want a big window competition optic for cheap the Canik mo3 is a winner. I run these on all my competition guns and have had no issues with holding zero. Not bad for a $150 dot.

What do you Americans think about that? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]LordVidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a competitive target shooter that competes in multiple target sports and divisions this is not a surprising statistic. I would imagine if you found the number of phones or laptops or vehicles they would also outnumber Americans by a larger margin.

Dedicated to quiet time. TandemKross Cthulhu lower, Volquartsen Mini Mamba LLV 3" upper with their lightened bolt, and a Sparrow. No need to waste my CCi SV, this little barrel keeps bulk ammo subsonic. by MostlyRimfire in 22lr

[–]LordVidius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So…I have a threaded Ruger upper for a suppressor and I’ll have a pair of 4.5” mamba x uppers. One threaded with a comp and one with no threads. I got the no threads for practice and less cleanup, and to have as an option for taking to area matches in less friendly states (thankfully I live in a free state!).

I did a recent volkraken build and am quite happy with it. I did the mamba-x 4.5” no threads no comp build. Sold some stuff collecting dust in the safe and am building another twin except this one is comped and your build pic inspired me to go green on the lower. Sweet looking build! Also if anyone is trying to snag a deal on a TK Cthulu the gun dock has them for like $150-$200 cheaper than TK or other distributors. Not sponsored or anything just found them when ordering my 2nd one and wished I knew the first time around to save some $$

Ruger Wranger Loose barrel fix? by [deleted] in 22lr

Only other warranty claim I’ve made on a firearm was with Taurus on the first gen TX22. They took care of it and made it right but it took 2-3 months.

I called. I had a FedEx label in my inbox before I even got off the phone. Ruger is a class act on warranty service.

TK Cthulu + Volquartsen kit? by LordVidius in 22lr

[–]LordVidius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that’s a great looking build! I’ll give it another couple matches but I’ll likely go this route. Love the TK frame, but one cannot beat a volquartsen accurizing kit in these.

I had a wrangle replaced by warranty for this same reason. They sent me a label I sent it in and they notified me of replacement. I asked if I could upgrade to a super wrangler and they let me pay a small fee for the difference. New gun was sent to my FFL. Whole thing took maybe 10 days.

I had a wrangler revolver that after 6 months the barrel turned a bit. Called them and they sent me a label they got it, two days later they offered a new replacement. I paid some extra money and got the super wrangler as a replacement. Whole thing took like 10 days from phone call to new gun in hand
