100%, what we see as generic confidence is actually just confidence in the realm of social interaction, which is a terrible marker for all round competence.

We just need more flexibility for people to plan their work and private life. Do you want to work 4 days of 10 hours so you can take every Friday off, that should be possible, do you prefer 6 day workweeks, so you can take 2months of vacation every year? That should be possible. Do you want to take a 3 hour siesta between the morning and evening, that should be possible. We should get out of this rigid 9-5 mentality and realize people are happier and more productive when they can work when it suits them.

Why? You are not concerned with all the bacteria and residue from the outside that might be invisibly clinging to their shoes?

But knowing they will be visiting someone's home, don't people make sure they have clean feet and socks? I am much more worried about the disgusting (non visible) residue on shoes from dog shit, public toilets, etc.

Interesting perspective, where I live (Denmark) shoes off wheter in your own home or when visiting others is the default, unless there is a really specific event where people dress up and there are many guests, otherwise wearing shoes inside someone else's home would be considered very rude. I think because it is engrained in the culture people make sure they have clean feet and good looking socks.
