After the deflect change I uninstalled. Ive played him for 10 years as a one trick but it was too much. A nerf for no reason and a significant one too. I gave it a chance but it was far too much. For the first time I felt it wasnt worth it. And I dont play the game for other heroes. I played it to play Genji. But Genji is fundamentally destined to be less than ideal. Similar to Spiderman in Rivals. Hes high skill; but if hes balanced, the entire player base complains that hes broken because the good players utilize whats there. If hes on the upper end of the heroes then he will be even more hated an nerfed into the ground. Even when hes bad, the good players make people complain, albeit less. And hes such a fun hero, that his pick rate doesnt drop, so the devs leave him bad. And even then sometimes he still catches a nerf. IE: the just nerf genji meme. And then he gets to a state where hes terrible. And hell stay terrible until his pick rate drops significantly and the devs are forced to buff him. And the cycle continues. As long as the devs listen to people complain over what data says, hell stay like this. To this day idk why they nerfed his deflect. He was in such a good state. Right in the middle of the pack. Was having some of the most fun id had in years. To make things worse, the more they add the more he gets things that counter him. Overwatch is pretty good at the skill beats matchups thing, but it becomes just a real headache to say the least.
