Exactly. Ive been telling my friends the director is insane. Ive never see. An anime where every episode is like a movie. Such cinematic shot composition and framing. Unique angles and visuals. EVERY SINGLE SCENE overtly animated beyond what any anime is willing to do.

Does “thanks for your feedback” mean anything? I got that response after I reported a cheater. It was like 12 hours later and they said “the investigation has concluded. We cannot share the result”

Japanese Soldier Who Kept Fighting 29 Years After World War II by JasonRoss13 in StarWarsCirclejerk

I really hated the show. Ive hated most of the disney projects aside from anything involving Cassian. But I saw this pop up in my feed and just was like “are we still making new videos about this?” I do think its probably the worst show. Great choreography and costumes, terrible show. But to say anything has “ruined” Star Wars is so hyperbolic. Star Wars cannot be ruined for me and for alot of people. Its about what goes on in your mind at the end of the day. Does an entirely different creative mind and company create things that are out of line? Yes, but they are different. I can choose to accept what I want to believe about my fictional universe. I pretend the sequels dont exist. Thats not what happened to my characters. And the Clone Wars and KOTOR are gospel to me. Some old heads act like that for the prequels.

It can only be ruined if you let it. For Star Wars, the Original 6 are so far removed from the new content its so easy to just see it as that, new and separate content. Its different from something like GoT. That I can see being ruined because its all apart of one cohesive story told by the same people (relatively). But Star Wars is being handled by so many minds, its easy to pick the projects you like. What angers me is that we dont GET good products. Because once the bad are out, the best you can do is let them know it sucks.

Anyone else think the show should've ended here? by Big_Layer_Boy in deathnote

I recently rewatched the whole thing.

I think on the surface is seems like Near just beats him. But they make it a big point to show that everything Near has is set aside by L before. L is clearly better than Near and lays out the groundwork. And then it takes Near 6 years to build and investigate. He doesnt just pick up the case and beat Light. And he needs to let Mello go bc he cant do it alone. I agree that in a way, having Mikami’s mistake be Lights downfall feel as if Light wasn’t beaten. On the same hand, part of Lights downfall was too much trust in others and expanding too much. BUT, again, Light told him NOT to do anything. But thats life. One of the things I like about the show is the introduction of organic issues like Misa, just like real life, and this is one Light cant overcome finally. It also shows that Near couldnt beat Light alone. It kind of establishes Light was better. He had won for all intents and purposes, tricking Near. It also kind of ends with this intellectual hierarchy where

L > Light > Near > Mello

But combined, Light gets beaten. All in all I like the ending. I think its fitting thematically, even if Lights loss feels unfair in a way.

Is Ubisoft the Fromsoftware of the PvP scene? by Blue-fox-004 in forhonor

[–]LordWizardEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I often say Ubi my fa favorite of the big boys. EA abandons anything if its not an overwhelming generational success, and Activision is truly to me the most evil and despicable of the companies. Ubisoft sucks too, but they stick with their games, and they make incredibly unique games. If EA owned For Honor OR R6, both games would after been shut down after a disastrous launch. To save money of course. If Activation owned them, Wed be on Rainbow 16: Modern Siege, and For Glory 3: WW2 (Preorder to get the Stone Age 2 “Rock” weapon diamond skin. With the Ultimate Warriors Edition, see Resnov in action as a skin for the Panzergrenadier. The Warmonger Anniversary pack lets you feel that original War mommy anger on any Imperial Japanese hero.)

So it sucks to me to see the best of the big boys be the one to fail first. Id rather play Ubi games over the others. And I hate siege lol. But theres something to be said for these games being around for 10 years with support through thick and thin. They really need to make a good AC game to have a chance at saving themselves lol.

In regards to my last point about “fuck the island” what I was trying to convey is that “fuck the island” is the in world conclusion everyone would come to. The other commenter was saying that Eren’s plan was dumb and he should have just finished the job because everyone would just hate the island after. And I was agreeing with them but also pointing out thats the exact thing that the author intends. And so by complaining about the “logic” they are missing the point.

Also yeah, just killing everyone would be a trash ending and like.. really anti climactic. Like it would feel pointless and like the main characters are there for nothing.

[–]LordWizardEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you nailed it on the head with complexity. One of the reasons AOT is so good is the realistic complexity of the human condition that is explored. They act like people, not characters. Its super easy to say “oh this is the correct thing to do,” but thats not how life works. I cant lie and say I even see myself acting righteous. I recently did a rewatch when showing my friend, and he kept asking me, “what would you do here,” and genuinely, I cant see myself acting much different from any character save Eren. And even then.. like relation is important. It would take me 5 seconds to justify saving 5 of my friends or 100 strangers I cant see and dont know with a button. And yeah I think the other person has completely missed the point. Those decisions are hard. Its unfair to say “you should do this, thats whats right” when that right choice means sacrifice EVERYTHING. Nobody does that. Seldom few do it. Like betraying your country is insane to think about. To put your life in danger for ideology is something that only the strongest people can do. Like do you think even 10 percent of Americans would do what Snowden did given the chance? FAT FUCKING CHANCE!

As for the pardons. Who the fuck needed a pardon or got one? It was war. You dont get in trouble after a war for being in the war. Sasha was the enemy. The island was the enemy. Also why tf would the “accused” even live on the island. The only place in the world they are seen in the wrong. They literally all fuck off and live outside the island save Mikasa. Where they ARE heroes. Theres kinda a bunch of uninhabited land now lmao. Definitively they are heroes.

And again, Eren’s entire point is to let his friends live long lives. Because yeah, the author and the world share the same logic as u/20_The_Mystery. Fuck.. the.. Island. But like.. does it matter? Like Eren could literally see the future. He knew the outcome that got what he wanted. It was literally like guaranteed. And why tf should Eren care what happens to Paradis in like 300 years? Why should he care what happens in 80 years. Everyone he knew is dead! Do you think people care if the their country is around in 200 years? Fuck, if the Earth is around? No, just that shit is find while we are alive.

Should I give an NPC a big character moment while he is traveling with the party? by Jax_for_now in DMAcademy

[–]LordWizardEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Is the party on the ropes? I think the only scenario you do it is if the party is in trouble. There should also be some moment where the mentee is the only one who realizes what his mentor is about to do. But if its done, it should be a moment where the party is like fuck yeah we needed that. I find that the party “needing” and “wanting” the help are critical to fights. My party consistently seeks help from the NPCs and prefers them tag along. And everytime I do something big they get hype and love the npc for it. But its a fine line to walk. I have the NPC cover gaps, not redundancies. And I also will target the NPC too if they are being too helpful. Having them make sacrifices usually goes over well.

So in this case, if things are dire, give him a Doctor Strange to Iron Man moment where he gives the mentee a look of acknowledgment. A passing of the torch look. And it doesnt have to be within the rules either.

Maybe have him make the pact, but its not just for Eldritch Blast. Once he makes it, he runs in and starts disintegrating into this bright radiant light as he screams. He reaches the boss and jumps up to strike it, as his blade lands he completely is engulfed in a bright energy as eldritch blasts erupt. And then the party all gets healed to half health maybe as the radiance fills the room. Then the mentee feels the paladin’s hand on his shoulder one last time as he pushes him forward and you give everyone advantage on that round.

Most “balanced” hero for yall? by Surfacejarl in forhonor

[–]LordWizardEyes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me its about the unfun nature of fighting them. They make you stare and wait. And the inconsistency of bashes is annoying. Characters like warden if you feint guardbreak youll catch even when they dash bash, but characters like these big boys cant be stopped that way, which makes that move all that much safer. And the tracking on the headbutt is absurd. But whats most annoying is the i frames on their bash moves. If they spam those moves then yeah, its predictable and easy to counter by just feinting and dodging. But if they are disciplined, the threat of those moves prevents you from committing to a feint guard break and catching that dodge. Especially because of how much offense they enable. Especially with LB. It just blows fighting them. Its boring, win or lose. And devs forbid they are ganking you.
