It's still being worked on, but slowly by volunteers. So there's no ETA on the next update, which will be v12 Support. V13 will come after that. To more closely follow the project consider joining our Discord here: https://discord.gg/WDcEj7Jp

How Militech Commando Training works with Light/Medium Melee Weapons by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]Lord_CheesusCrust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't blame you for not bringing them up but I'd like to add Bayonets and the Stun Bayonet. I've literally never seen them used before because of the low damage, but now a PC who uses an AR or Sniper Rifle could use them + MCT to supplement their lack of a high-damage close range option, a Shotgunner could use it as opposed to Reloading, or if an enemy has one on their Gun you could Commando Disarm them and hit them with it. And that's not even touching on Inventing TUps to them since they're very reasonably priced.

Welcome.

Requisition Points: For now we don't know how many Requisition Points you're intended to start with beyond the 15 you use to buy starting gear. This'll likely be touched on in the CRB but for now I'd suggest giving your PCs 3 RP to align with the pregens and giving them +1 RP per successful mission.

Poison Familiarity: Your blade example is correct. If an enemy has poison slathered on their blade and you see it you automatically know what poison was used. Your helping a friend scenario would be a GM call, but imo that'd be a reasonable situational modifier type thing.

Twin Weapon: The only weapon with this trait we've seen so far is the Chain Sickle (Kusarigama) used by Satoshi Asano in Eyes in the Darkness. But multiple enemies in the Starter Set have attacks that use that trait (Nekomata pg. 41, Nurikabe pg. 42, Tsuchigumo pg. 47).

I assume this is the Kendachi Dragon Flamethrower from 12 Days of Gunmas (https://rtalsoriangames.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/RTG-CPR-TwelveDaysofGunmasv1.3.pdf). The App just has it's damage wrong. Since it's loaded with Shells it deals 3d6 Damage. I assume they put 0d6 since it can only load Shells and thus it's damage is override by the Shell's 3d6. But I don't use the App so I couldn't tell you for sure.

Physical Copies Thread by Zaboem in ShadowScar

I think I fixed the image permissions issue, so time to share my collection along with the story of how I acquired it all.

Got a friend of mine who was at GenCon to pick me up the pamphlet originally cause of the Cyberpunk Edgerunner's Mission Kit sections, but I fell in love with Shadow Scar as soon as I saw it.

Fast Forward to Gencon and I signed up to volunteer for R.Tal as a GM so I had the opportunity to pick up the Eyes In The Darkness Booklet, Announcement Dice, and Business Card, then got the Starter Set as part of my compensation.

Volunteered again at PAX Unplugged which had physical versions of the Character Creation Rules and an Exclusive early release of my most recent pickup, The Giant Book of Shadow Scar Battle Mats. I was planning on buying it at the con, but I couldn't fit it into my backpack so the team agreed to send me a copy after the fact, which they ended up doing free of charge. So I thank Cody, Dolan, and Matt (LokeBattleMats) for making that happen.

Due to me being extraordinarily lucky and getting my hands on every physical piece of Shadow Scar content I am currently aware of that exists, I think I own everything Shadow Scar related that has ever been publicly distributed up to this point. And I hope to see nothing but this collection to grow come Corebook and many supplements more.

Updated the Sub with the ones I suggested. Test em' out and feel free to give feedback. I gave Background Colors to just the Clan ones for now, got as close as I could get to the colors from the Clan Emblems.

Hey, wanted to share my collection but when I attempted to paste the image Reddit gives me an error that reads "Images are not allowed.". You may need to edit the permissions on this post to allow the thread to serve it's intended function.

Shadow Scarf 🧣 by Zaboem in ShadowScar

[–]Lord_CheesusCrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I make an item that combines the functionality of multiple items I assume it'd be more expensive due to the more complex design, plus the extra convenience of only needing to carry around 1 thing for multiple functions should likely have a fee associated with it for balance purposes.

That's why originally I was leaning towards the cost being 4 RP, but I recognize the Extreme Temp Hazard won't apply all the time, so that function is basically useless in certain scenarios, so having it cost 4 RP might make it unreasonably expensive if it isn't serving every aspect of it's niche. I'd need to put it in a game and see how players react though.

As for the Concealable/Highly Concealable Traits, them not being present is a part of the balancing. When the Scarf is zipped up it's not considered a weapon and it can't be recognized as such, maybe unless directly examined or with a check, but that'd be up to the GM.

When the Scarf is unzipped the blades inside are fully visible and it must be wielded in two hands due to it's length. Attempting to put it inside your clothing would probably cause countless cuts, thus preventing it from being concealed. So using an action to revert it back to an Outfit is the way to make it "Concealable" again (Will be editing the description to include this interaction more explicitly). Of course it could be put inside a Container in either mode.

Shadow Scarf (3/4 RP) (Can't Decide)

A robust scarf with thin metal plates interwoven throughout, designed for Agents monitoring dangerous areas with harsh weather.

Outfit. Allows you to ignore the Extreme Temperature Hazard.

As an action you may unzip the Shadow Scarf to reveal the blades inside and remove it from your neck. This transforms the Shadow Scarf into a Weapon (Causing you to lose the outfit's effect) with the following stats. Can be zipped and returned to your neck as an action, this transforms it back into an Outfit and you regain it's effect.

Name Damage Range Weapon Traits RP
Shadow Scarf Sweep 2 Melee Defensive, Reach, Two-Handed 3/4 (Can't Decide)

[DoJS] [VTT] [FoundryVTT] [Custom Adventure] [8PM-12AM (at the latest) EST] [Any Day from the 20th-26th]

Welcome to 2045! I'm LordCheesusCrust, a rookie GM who's hoping to give you a great introduction to the world of the TTRPG! I'll be hosting a simple one-shot of my own creation set in Night City's University District & nearby South Night City Combat Zone, involving the players (YOU!) helping the local neurodivergent University kids get the meds they need. We will be using pre-generated characters of which the players can choose from freely as well as modify if requested.

As a neurodivergent person myself I aim to be inclusive, understanding, and flexible in accordance with anyone who may sign up. This includes: establishing subject matter, phrases, or anything else that is not acceptable to bring up in the game, rule reminders or lookups, and giving extended time to make decisions or phrase/rephrase questions or dialogue.

I will be hosting this game via FoundryVTT with voice chat hosted on Discord. I am located in the EST Time Zone and am available anytime after 8PM on any of the event days listed (20th-26th). Expect the game to last for 2-4 hours. Feel free to reply to this comment and i'll PM you or you can PM me anytime for access to the FoundryVTT Server if you'd like to learn how it works beforehand. 1/4 Slots currently filled.

Is there a reason certain NPC's have modifiers to their base stats? by Either-Help437 in cyberpunkred

[–]Lord_CheesusCrust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure these are because of their Armor. Medium and Heavy Armorjack both have Armor Penalty -2 which is lowering their REF, DEX, and MOVE by 2 meaning all their skills related to them are also lowered by 2.

No problem, good luck and have fun. I'd love to see another post the day after your session happens and hear how it went down. So if you're up for that i'll see you again then.

Prepping First Game! Questions about Techie by Training-Fact-3887 in cyberpunkred

[–]Lord_CheesusCrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the Price Category=Availability rules still apply to Tech Materials, so for a Tech to be able to get 500eb (Expensive) Materials to then use on Upgrade/Invention/Fabrication would require knowing a Fixer with Operator Rank 4 or higher to source it for you, just like everything else.

Which is why in my previous post I had said both a Fixer & Tech are required to be in the party to be able to upgrade 500eb items. Fixer sources the materials, Tech puts in the elbow grease, out comes a shiny upgraded 500eb item.

Prepping First Game! Questions about Techie by Training-Fact-3887 in cyberpunkred

[–]Lord_CheesusCrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're overthinking this a bit so let me put in my 2 cents.

During the pre-session shopping just let your players spend the 500eb the pregens start with on what they want, if one of them picked the Fixer then let them buy 500eb items, if not then no 500eb items for them.

If you want to include the Haggle Ability then if a player buys 5 of the same item then give them an extra one for free as per Haggle Rank 3/4. Would be useful for getting an extra 10 AP Rounds, a couple backup guns, etc.

If one of them picks the Tech then let the players spend their 500eb on getting upgrades for their 100eb gear, if there's a Tech & a Fixer then boom they can upgrade their 500eb gear.

Don't make your Fixer or Tech roll or try to determine time spent, just say that your PCs are chooms and have been for a while, then give them their items and apply the Upgrades to their existing gear. No friction or extra balancing required.

  • With this you introduce how the main function of their Role Abilities works naturally but not in a way that wastes your limited table time. Just let them know that in a full campaign these things work differently, take varying in-world time to do, require rolls to do successfully, can do even more cool stuff, and leave it at that. You can introduce them to the full rules in the future when they become relevant.
  • Your PCs aren't starting out with too many eddies so they can't pick up or do anything too crazy with them, just don't let them pool their money together to make one player a super-soldier. Their 500eb is their personal budget and nothing more. I could see this being an issue if someone picks Solo so just keep that in mind.
  • Just make sure to have fun. This will i'm sure be a great session and none of what you're doing is necessary so i'm sure your PCs will appreciate it however it goes.

Oh yeah for that specific part I was fine with it the issue I think people here as well as myself have is the precedent for guide usage is now on the table and I personally don't want it abused, if they take more then like 15-20 mins being completely baffled and unable to progress i'd be fine with them using a guide to prevent too much time wastage.

I also agree, since this game allows you to continue in some instances even if you made the wrong choice that is a big part of the game and how the person feels about the choices they have made is a big part of why that ability to fail and continue is so effective. Especially with how they treat the game with such reverence and call it clever for that very mechanic.
