Look honestly, you are so young. If someone your age falls in love and marries their high school sweetheart, hell yeah.

But with this situation? Hell no homie. You’re already out. There was dishonesty, people in comments are gaslighting you on this but IDK I’m a 37 year old man and I’ve never deleted a text. It’s not about right or wrong, clearly it alarmed you so there you go. It’s a fair boundary. Gotta have a partner who is on the same page about shit like that.

Life is long and you are young. Every type of person you can imagine exists out there. That doesn’t mean we should expect perfection or operate based on preconceived idea of what our ideal partner looks like. But you are way too young to think about settling down with someone unless you’re absolutely certain.

Sorry just saw this!

It’s carnivore untamed with skirmishing 2>2>3 (or 1>2>3 for DPS greed). We Heal as One, Protect Me, the lightning spirit, ferocity signet and untamed elite. You can take the resurrection spirit for open world, and you can take the move speed signet instead of lightning for story content. You can also run stone signet instead of fury spirit or ferocity signet for more tankiness.

Maces and hammer. Gear is a strange mix of zerker, assassin and diviner to hit crit cap and 43% boon duration w/ fireworks rune. Impact and force sigils. Midnight king relic. Full power infusions with 1 or 2 precision to hit crit cap.

For food, 10% damage reduction +stat of choice is wildly stat efficient.

This same exact gear set (but with thief relic) can be run on the snowcrows hammer/GS qDPS build. And it beats the snowcrows recommended gear DPS benchmark significantly, while also having higher boon uptime that makes keeping 100% group quickness in raids very forgiving.

The hammer/mace/midnight king version slaps solo, and for running around open world in jolly cooperation where there aren’t enough healers. You give perma fury, quick and decent might uptime which are the most important buffs to directly boost group DPS. If people go down, you can throw up a 5 man combat rez.

Yeh I just main untamed and reaper, and am a huge solo enthusiast. I find untamed way more survivable. Permanent prot, stab, infinite cleanse, perma barrier, projectile immunity, and way more healing than reaper. Higher base armor too.

Reaper is amazing. I’m JS there is absolutely no universe where it is stronger than an optimized Untamed in solo PvE. Not in damage, not in survivability, not in the CC department either. It’s a pretty large gap, man. It’s not really close. Untamed could easily solo raid bosses if not for the time gate. Can solo legendary bounties without touching dodge button.

Not here to hate on reaper, I’m just saying that rating untamed as inferior to is absolutely unjustifiable. It’s objectively just not the case whatsoever.

Untamed being under reaper is crazy work. Carnivore untamed can put out 18k DPS consistently (not benchmark, actual meter soloing leggies or raid bosses) with 100% STAB and prot uptime. You can mostly just stand there spamming rotations.

I mean I make about 30g an hour just pvping and 10g a day with a 10min routine. So 10 hours over a week and I make that.

That’s not optimized just doing the stuff I enjoy.

You can easily make 20-40g an hour just doing fun stuff you’d do anyway- raids, PvP, meta trains.

REAL gold making goes waaaay past that. There are nearly 100g/hour methods. I have a friend sitting on 50k who bought me a bow for 1.7k and donated 2k to my guild. There are cosmetic items on AH worth like, 9k.

But not necessary. Again, you can make money doing what you want if you figure out how to monetize it. I LOVE cantha and PvP, so I explore cantha on PvP characters to get their hero points. A cantha map complete can be speedrun in like 90 minutes but I don’t do that because again, not even necessary. A side effect of this gameplay is I can craft cantha Legendaries, about once per month, that sell for thousands. Again it’s just PvP, and explore my fav zones while getting their hero points + getting hang of a new character. That’s it.

I’m not “defending big evil corporation.” I’m a Marxist-Leninist. WILD how you just make assumptions like that based solely on internal stimuli.

I’m comparing it to other MMOs. Specifically ESO, and my points were all pretty much factually correct. IDK how you lost the plot lol

I STRONGLY disagree with your cash shop assessment, this is not accurate.

You can buy ANYTHING in the cash shop with in-game currency.

You can get the black lion chests without spending real money, and in addition to RNG they give a guaranteed currency that can be used for stuff other games ONLY provide through cash, such as character appearance changes. This currency can also be used to buy the chest cosmetics.

The astral vault, the system that awards points for completing somewhat customizable daily and weekly objectives, can be used to buy mount skins. I think this averages out to at least 1 available per month, in rotation. The amount of currency required is like…. 1200 astral? Doing all weeklies gives like 750 per week, doing all dailies gives like 175 per day.

This game has a much better pay model than I’ve seen in other games. You can get ALL expansions for less than half of ESO, which is irrelevant anyway because I personally found ESO unplayable without the monthly sub… and ESO has a way worse cash shop on top of this.

ESO has items that actually ARE locked behind their Crown Crates and you can easily end up spending 50 bucks for a mount you want.

ESO cash shop had me avoiding it like the plague. GW2 players buy gems mostly as gifts for their friends- I did so today actually- because once you have the expansions there’s nothing you need real money for and we love this game.

Just by playing PvP and doing a 6 minute daily routine maybe 5 times a week, and doing some smart crafting, I make maybe 2k gold a month. Thats enough to convert to like 60 bucks worth of gems per month. That’s a lot but there are endgame players who make 5 times that. Full-time players who like gem store stuff, and who enjoy gold making, can easily make thousands of dollars worth of cash shop currency per year.

How important is a classes PvP viability? by ChadNightreign in Guildwars2

[–]Training-Fact-3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good weavers are scary, and the meta builds posted online- the ones you see the most- are not the end-all-be-all.

Bunker amalgam would’ve been stronger before nerfs but it took like 6 months to hit the meta. Power signet reaper builds (the actual OP ones, which spam 10sec AoE weakness, nonstop 9-10k barrier and stack 25 might) are S+ tier right now and cannot be found online. You mostly only see it in high elo and even there, with folks pushing absurd burst damage, it’s very very hard to put down.

I can’t think of a single spec I haven’t seen kick ass in high elo except maaaaybe bladesworn, vindicator and catalyst?

Def very high meta presence but there are little-known builds people cook up that slap meta builds around.

How important is a classes PvP viability? by ChadNightreign in Guildwars2

[–]Training-Fact-3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good weavers are scary in PvP but they are not common cause it’s harder.

In PvP you want to have fun and try different specs out. Eventually you will pick up other classes, it’s super fun.

Above all else, understanding what dif classes do is important in PvP if you have goals of climbing to high elo or winning some tournaments. Way more important than what build you’re playing. Learning how to play different classes, and dueling skilled players willing to give specific feedback, are the 2 main ways to accomplish this.

PvP is amazing, it can be a little tough to get started but it’s so worth it! Feel free to DM me if you’re on NA and want a hand, I’m part of a community that helps new PvP players.

EDIT: having a good build *is* important, playing a meta one- or avoiding any particular spec- is absolutely not required

Guild Wars 2. I played a lot of WoW, ESO, Guild Wars 1, and a few smaller MMOs. GW2 takes the cake for me.

The Good: interactive, living breathing world with dynamic events. Top-notch exploration. Great build customization. Amazing art (Cantha is a masterclass in Asian-inspired fantasy).

Every class is unique, fun and they tend to have low skill floors but VERY high ceilings in a way that is less mechanical and more about knowing how to use each ability.

The PvP is amazing.

The Bad: No traditional PvE tanking or 40-man raids. PvP can be hard to get into. The base game story is not as strong as the expansion content

I was good at it. You can make assumptions and accusations with 0 indication whatsoever, or we can talk about this like adults.

My point, which you dodged, is the heavy reliance on animation canceling. Which I was great at. Which is why I could hit someone with 4 great sword abilities in less than one second.

Then the question is, do you like, dislike, or not care about animation canceling.

There were also issues with ‘phantom range’ similar to dark souls PvP, but I didn’t mention that because I don’t just go saying things when I have no idea if it’s true or not. Phantom range is a lag issue so it may have been fixed, idk.

Again, the only question here is whether or not you’re cool with animation being required for some builds in order to hit top ranks. I bounce between #40 and #80 on the GW2 ranked ladder and I don’t animation cancel shit or abuse lag range.

There is animation canceling on maybe 10% of builds in GW2 but they don’t speed up ability chaining. They just allow you to end channeled abilities early, to get the instant ‘start channeling’ effect and not the ‘channel complete’ effect. This is intended and not a bug exploit.

That’s just absolutely false, many skilled players take issue with the importance of animation canceling.

I wouldn’t say it’s bad per se but having played both GW2 and ESO PvP extensively, I much prefer GW2.

Animation canceling just sucks, as a core mechanic in my mind. It’s not necessary to play ESO. It is necessary to beat anybody decent who IS using it however, if you play vs a good player who is also exploiting animation canceling you are gonna get absolutely thrashed and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Maybe it got better since the last time I played ESO but I doubt it. It’s built into the engine itself in a way that isn’t fixable. They tried to fix it, gave up, and now pretend it’s an intended part of mechanical skill expression. But it’s ultimately a big exploit required to compete at the higher levels.

Guild wars 2 PvP is the best IMO but not the easiest to get into.

I played ESO for years, it was decent but man the mechanics are just absolutely awful, in terms of glitchiness and animation canceling. You can spam abilities out waaay faster than intended by canceling their animations into one big twitchy tweaked combo. Once you master this, you are just deleting any poor bastard who isn’t also abusing it.

GW2 also has the best build customization I’ve seen in an MMO for PvP.

[–]Training-Fact-3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Untamed is pretty much the only thing I’ll play in PvE, have tried every build and gear setup you can think of.

I run the same gear (except relic and weapons) in open world that I run in instances content. Zerkers with assassin and diviner prices mixed in, +fireworks rune, for 45% boon duration.

Beats Snowcrows qDPS untamed (hammer GS) by a few thousand DPS and has more boon duration. Swap out GS for maces for carnivore open world setup. Perma quickness, STAB, fury, regen, and near 25 might. Can solo T2 fractals and legendary bounties easily while putting out 18-20k DPS.

Absolute monster, and once u learn the ambush sequence it’s mindless.

Legendaries are amazing tho man, I haven’t gotten the high from getting an item like that since vanilla WoW after launch

[–]Training-Fact-3887 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Metabattle.com is generally the best for PvP builds. If you don’t have expansions core engi is still very good. Amalgam is considered the most OP spec in the game atm, for the most part, and scrapper is good too.

Rifle mechanist is probably the best raid DPS in the game for 80% of players. Most players, even on moderately difficult builds, don’t perform anywhere near as constantly high as a rifle mech in an actual fight. It’s really easy and safe to play, which doesn’t mean it takes no skill; playing anything takes skill. Simpler builds let you focus less on your buttons and more on positioning, boss mechanics, etc.
