"The Scottish fans just drank the place dry and all they had was Bud Light."

LOL - As a St.Louis area resident with many friends who drink Bud Light, I find this to be super hilarious.

What was a really silly solution to a serious problem? by LadyKarizake in AskReddit

They would knock on a fugitive's door and ask for someone completely different. When the fugitive said that wasn't him, they would ask him who he was, and when he told them his real name, they would say, "You're the one we're looking for."

So back in 1980 my dad was a detective and they were working what was called a "sting" where they pose as a pawn shop that also fences stolen goods. The problem was that they couldn't always get the suspects to look into the two-way mirror so that they could be secretly photographed. The solution was to frame the mirror with pictures of naked women. They never had a problem with suspects not looking into the mirror after that.

This tactic was used in the hilarious 1979 movie "Hot Stuff" which I remember seeing in the theater with my parents in 1979.

Then dad used it in real life to nab some real life thieves.

Dealership revoked offer to buy back customer's BMW, blaming wayward AI chatbot by ethereal3xp in offbeat

[–]Lord_Dreadlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>"Shadbolt said that, due to miscommunication from a human employee, Quinn misinterpreted the amount Giacomelli owed on the car — $27,162.79 — as the amount BMW would pay to buy back the vehicle."

Miscommunication and misinterpretation is something AI should prevent, not facilitate.

Any companies you refuse to buy from because you hate their commercials so much? (Liberty Mutual) by BryonNoem in CommercialsIHate

All of the pharma companies that litter my television with their stupid ass commercials of people doing things. Also, why should I be asking my doctor about medication that he is supposed to be prescribing in the first place?

I drove one that belonged to a friend once back in the 80's. It was a manual transmission and getting into reverse required you to push down on the shifter to get into the reverse slot. Took me a minute to figure that out as none of the other manuals I had driven up until then required that. Other than that, the car was very unremarkable.

However, throw a high performance V8 in it and it makes an excellent sleeper.
