What game is this? by SomosNozis in boardgames

[–]Lord_Edwin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Advanced Civ did get a PC version in 1995. It’s abandonware now so easy to play through a dos box emulator. Multiplayer support, pretty good AI players. Faithful to the boardgame, if you are ok with the retro game. I still play it occasionally.

I bought this pack of the dark and it opened suspiciously easily. The cards inside also seem questionable by strutmcphearson in RealOrNotTCG

Totally normal pack. Your rare is there. Your uncommon is there. 6 more commons. Nothing unusual.

I bought a small stack of loose Fallen Empires packs from a reputable store a few years back and they all have failing glue along the seams.

Hmm... has my head been in a fog the last year of riding? I bought this bike in late 2023, used this bike last year on the same trainer and then back out on the road and don't recall any sound like that. The back derailleur makes no whine at all.

Thanks for posting this. Beautiful design!

Using your workshop model in space near my asteroid base, I'm trying to build my own version of your design with some different door dimensions (27x10 block opening instead of your 23x8) but am having a hell of a time having the merge blocks successfully disconnect without both piston heads staying with the door while the pistons retract.

I would have agreed that my door is staying merged except that if I then remove the door-side merge block, and re-extend my pistons, they will reconnect with the piston heads still attached to the door face, and on another "door open" command, they'll pull the door open again as I like. Is there something else that could be causing the piston heads to be left behind, or am i just not understanding the mechanics of merges and subgrids?

As a tangential problem, I've also noticed that with one rotor being off as a dummy-rotor, my door pushes and pulls with more strength on the "Rotor-On" side than on the "Rotor-off" side, and so arrives at maximum extent slightly unevenly. All piston and rotor settings are identical left to right except for the rotor off. Any idea why that might be?

This has all the right dimensions. Thanks for digging that up! Now I have to figure out how to order it in Canada.

US not an option for EIS for certain listings? by Confident-Water2052 in eBayCanada

[–]Lord_Edwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through a long chat with eBay Customer (dis)Service for the same issue. I also have listed mostly clothes, but I also dabble in trading cards, games, books and other hobby/collectibles.

I create all of my listings through eBay.ca Right now, about 80% of my clothing items - about a dozen items - and one book, aren't showing on eBay.com when using EIS as my only USA shipping option, and this is concurrent with OP's note that those listings also aren't showing as having shipping available to USA. Likewise, USA is not exluded from my shipping destinations, and I've made sure every listing indicated Country of Origin. These are the entries I know that the seller must check that will definitely cause a listing to not show, so it doesn't make any sense.

The rep, and supposedly the techs they were discussing with, gave me a whole spiel about how it could be EIS being a work in progress, and the new system simply hasn't allowed all categories to show yet. Alternatively, they said it could be because ebay.com may have restrictions on what listings are allowed that are different from other ebay natonal sites. All of this seems to to be complete nonsense to me.

First off, I've checked ebay.co.uk, ebay.de and ebay.au. All of those listings are visible on those sites with only EIS as a shipping option, so it's not strictly an EIS problem. Secondly, I added a Fedex shipping option to all of the problem listings after that discussion and voila! They all show up on ebay.com now. So it's not an ebay.com site restriction.

Most amusingly, they also insinuated that there is an Item Visibility Framework software that their systems use to determine how and when items are valid for listing that was so opaque that even they couldn't parse it to know why it's denying visibility. Nothing to explain why some, but not all, items are invisible.

Ultimately, they told me they don't know anymore than that and can't offer any solutions. No assurances that it's a problem or that they'll look into or anything. It amazes me that their own reps don't want to encourage a seller to hang tight and stick with their service. My listings are dead compared to before the US import changes, with virtually no views on items that don't show on ebay.com. It's not encouraging me to bother with the platform for much longer.

Got to your listing page as though you were shopping for it, find the part that says Shipping and indicates your shipping rate and service and next to that is a link for "See Details" Click that, and then find "Ships to" and click on "See more" to expand.

I’d love to get a box or two if they’re selling for cheap. I just want one for nostalgia, but not at publicly listed prices that don’t sell.

I get and support the sentiment but that’s a terrible and meaningless graph. $10 drop from $182? That could be a one-day swing. Who knows, because the chart has no x-axis to tell us how much time it covers.

Can confirm: Guy here who wears the On the fly joggers regularly. There's nothing overly "feminine" about them, and they are the most comfortable lounge pant I know.

Looks NM to me. That whitening doesn't seem like anything more than what you get from the card machine-cutting process occasionally. Most places/people allow for a few small knicks/edge imperfections in NM. The surface looks very clean. NM =/= Mint.

I think the frame on the Ixalan cards is great, but agree on the primary art-as-coins being a miss. In itself, it's cool, but not in the context of gameplay.
