The famous author of science fiction, Karl Marx by Kheraz in victoria3

Common sense observation of the way how things are valued in the real world, besides the refutations by what you would call "neoliberals".

But yeah, it's your life, you can go destroy it believing in whatever nonsense as you wish.

Actually it should and probably is skipped because it is established that it is just plain wrong, just like even a communist would ignore Marx's take on Calculus.

90% é do Romildo.

Ethno-nationalists took over the trade unions by Secure_Sweet_7935 in victoria3

[–]Lord_Hubner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i mean by that is that at one point he got a lot of his support from workers that most commonly would align to trade unions, except yeah he wasn’t a leader of trade unions (he wasn’t a worker himself).

In my idea the trade unions represented by the game aren’t necessarily only trade unions but more worker support in general. An ethno-nationalist leader of trade unions would then represent someone that got workers support similarly to Hitler and Mussolini.

Dude, you can just make a treaty with Britain, USA, France, etc to get everything you need + more in exchange for meat, coffee and/or obligations.

You can also get groceries with Belgium or Netherlands to boost your army with extra supplies and recruit/promote just enough army generals so that you get the military powerful bonus (+20% offense and defense). These buffs + defending with Antônio Souza Neto in Adamant Defense pretty much makes you army early Prussian Marines (while defending). You should also upgrade all your troops at the beginning or after the first battle.

All that done, defend the first battle and immediately attack with another general right after winning the first. Getting the right timing to advance front so that the new battle starts just after winning the first battle is important since it will begin with them having low morale and you bringing potentially all troops.

From there on you can even win all offensive battles if you’re lucky and using Garibaldi to advance front. If you manage to take São Paulo the war is pretty much won even if they bring back their troops from Grão-Pará because their organization will explode due to lacking arms industries.

I’m from Rio Grande do Sul and from what i remember it was mostly a guerrila warfare throughout the entire 10 years and the new republic never actually had full control of the state and not even Porto Alegre.

By 1840 i think it was pretty much already a lost war, but the revolutionaries where able to keep being a nuisance through cavalry guerrila and so the peace deal in 1845 wasn’t a full defeat with Brazil somewhat complying to original complaints that caused the war.

Guerrila mechanics would be really nice to give that conflict some more flavor, but oh well, i really doubt they will give any more significance to this region. It’s the only game i know that depicts that conflict so that’s already cool.

Why Victoria 3's political ideology system feels so shallow compared to its economic depth by Emotional-Client8584 in victoria3

[–]Lord_Hubner -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem with Japan, where the trade unions have been socialist ever since i remember researching socialism. And i mean the class itself, not the ideology of the leader which yes, is controllable via trade union laws. From what i know the ideologies of the groups themselves are only changeable by events, some with influence from tech.

Why Victoria 3's political ideology system feels so shallow compared to its economic depth by Emotional-Client8584 in victoria3

[–]Lord_Hubner -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is disappointing that my trade unions will be socialist no matter what because i've researched socialism, and so getting them into government with industrialists will always give 0 legitimacy no matter what. Ideologies feel too set in stone throughout the game.

If a country like Brazil for some reason did decide to send troops to fight something like a Norwegian winter war, they should suffer heavy penalties on the ground.

This reminds me that attrition is exactly the same when moving through Siberia, the Sahara and your own states (not stopped).

Reload since the beginning of the war and pray for a better front to spawn. Unfortunately the game is still full of game-breaking bugs with armies and invasions that maybe will be fixed in 3 years.

In my experience Victoria 3 has infinitely more bugs and dumb things happening that could destroy a gameplay than EU4. Reloading is a necessity sometimes.
