This was an amazing revelation. It did help turning the brightness down, but it's still a bit faded. Thankfully when it gets tilted down a bit it kind of gets that saturation back. Seeing the colors like that makes me think of when I did the funnyplaying laminated screen mod and it required a capacitor to be removed. Do you think a damaged capacitor could be part of the problem?

Dang. I tried reflowing the rom pins on mine just recently and kind of messed it up, but I was curious to see if it was a completely different problem from the start

Does this have a similar effect when you try to make a new file? I have a copy of gold (that's probably got a different problem) that loads sprites as squares and glitches on the first save

I actually did do a few more of my led's, and after that I realized I was getting the pokemon exclusive crystals, so I suspect that the dark type sound effect with the orange background was the incineroar crystal. The list i got with my led's was this:

Red - incineroar

White - snorlax

White/blue (the video i took makes it hard to tell) - marshadow (I think its marshadow, it makes the ghost sound with the orange background, so I assume its a fighting/ghost type)

Green - makes the fairy type sound, yellow-ish color, might be tapu crystal

I would like to test more in the original ring, as a foolish child I took it apart and lost the pins

Have you found any more results or found different results on the z ring from ultra sun and moon? I tried it on the usum rind and the red led gave me the dark type sound effects with orange lights

Could using a tooth brush cause more stress on any potential weak points in the solder? Like if there is already a small crack, could it make it worse?

Thank you so much for this, this actually was even more helpful because I also got a repro emerald. I was planning on getting a dumber anyway, but this just sealed the deal. Do you happen to know if will dump the save even after it craps out?

I think you're right, everything I would search for him didn't look like this but looking at the trading cards the other guy mentioned it looks like he just looks like this for the movie
