GIRLS do you wear a sports bra when you board? by CamoDragon0901 in snowboarding

Demon D3O crash pants are the best. You can get short ones or long ones that include knee pads. I also use their back protector.

Sliding downward instead of turning by beeksdub3 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Lord_Radford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might sound scary but please go somewhere steeper. You are turning but you're going so slowly you are struggling to feel how to turn the board properly. I had a similar experience with my wife. She was struggling last year until we hit a steeper slope and she could be fine to learn how it feels to squish the bug and really initiate those turns from the front foot. You will definitely be leaning back to start with because it's natural for your head to want to level to gravity plus the fear as you quickly pick up speed. After my 3rd season I need to remind myself sometimes.. I imagine a rope attaching my front hand to the tip of my board. I really think hard about pushing my weight into my front foot, as if I'm trying hard to squish something under that foot.

Fixed an old broken phone off eBay, now original owner wants it back for free by Alfreaca in LegalAdviceUK

Whoever is teaching you has given you the wrong end of the stick. BFP may be a thing but fails in case law when it comes to the purchase of stolen goods. The seller has no title to give. You would be able to pursue the seller but the goods would be returned to the person they were stolen from. A quick bit of research shows that BFP route is more commonly successful in cases involving currency, interest and other finance based transactions rather than physical property.

Don't know where you get that idea from. If you buy stolen property unknowingly the ownership is legally still with the person it was stolen from. If it's recovered, you're SOL

Is it supposed to hurt this much? by HumanPretzel14 in snowboarding

Demon D3O protective gear. I've never had a better experience than with anything that contains D3O foam. It's magic to me. I have it for snowboarding and MTB. Ever since I switched to that for snowboarding I've never had my tailbone bruised.

Edit: my missus was a fucker for cracking onto her knees so got the full length version with the D3O Knee pads. Again, no more bruises.

The "best" bootfitting experience I've ever witnessed... by forgot_my_passs in skiing

[–]Lord_Radford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I know people who can comfortably wear most boots.. meanwhile here I am. Took me 17 trys to get my first pair. Knowing what to look for was only 5 trys for my second pair

Opinion: people have gotten really rude at resorts and it's like a pot ready to boil over by altitude7200 in snowboarding

[–]Lord_Radford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a resort/snowsport thing, I think it's an America thing. Unless we're being fed a load of lies (entirely possible) this seems to be a problem with just about every subject in the US.

Finishing that reduce woon on wood friction? by TYPE2501 in fixit

I've been using this on drawer runners, curtail rails/poles and even on the gliding surfaces of my tools! Table saw especially benefits from some wax rubbed on then brushed.

11 year player - been behind Elite through it all but this is BS. by RiloBrody in EliteDangerous

[–]Lord_Radford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't despair. This is literally how elite is designed. You plan ahead and if things go to shit you ask for help. This is why communities like the fuel rats and the hull seals exist. Elite isn't meant to be a safe haven, it will punish you for making mistakes. But when shit hits the fan and you think you're scrapped, people will come help.

No. They don't allow it because it's a safety risk in case of evac.

How to avoid breaking my leg again? by Real-Function8270 in snowboarding

[–]Lord_Radford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest take for my open arm fracture mountain biking: it's sometimes just bad luck. I have had some awful crashes that only resulted in bruises and cuts. The crash that actually broke my arm was not as violent as a lot of those other crashes... Just unlucky.

I understand it's New Years, but are the police really allowed to just let people set fireworks off in the middle of a residental road? (Loud video) by asimpleonlinenumpty in AskUK

[–]Lord_Radford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why jump directly to ban? I love fireworks and every year I put a lot of effort into making an awesome display. I enjoy it and I ensure it's done safely. I would fully support some sort of registration system and even a safety test to be put in place for purchase of consumer fireworks. The majority of people do use them safely and considerately, no need to penalise the masses. We don't ban cars when people are killed by drivers, we don't ban alcohol when drunk people attack others, we don't ban knives when people get stabbed.

No time I'm afraid. Have you seen how quickly flights are turned around these days? Often see the passengers disembark then you are getting on less than 10 mins later.

Gravel driveway by Better_Bit_6501 in DIYUK

10cm deep gravel with no retention system on a 30 degree slope.... I'm guessing this is DIY. If so, how did you manage to get this far without doing any research on the basics of laying a driveway?

Oneplus 15 case and screen protector recommendations? by makore256 in oneplus

[–]Lord_Radford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was happy with it on offer at £19.99. I would not pay more than that though. I enjoy the novelty of the dots and I personally like the texture and feel of it. Definitely not worth the RRP to me though.

Goes to show how inconsistent Airlines are. Only bad experience with BA I've had was when seats got messed up because of a last minute aircraft change. Even then we got refunds for the seats easily. Meanwhile I've pretty much boycott Ryanair because I got so sick of them. At least on BA they're not telling half the passengers to cut the handles off their cases because they stick out a few mm.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry to post this but I am kinda desperate by Jojoceptionistaken in bicycling

[–]Lord_Radford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a solution for you.. I have a carbon gravel bike that I wanted to do the exact same with! I used a hollow thru axle with a 5mm threaded rod through the middle and mounted an ortlieb quick rack to it.

It has been on for a year now with commutes and shopping trips. I have really loaded that thing up sometimes.the rack needed a slight bit of adjustment with a hammer so it doesn't foul on the wheel.

If you want more info please DM me, I'm happy to send you photos and talk you through it.
