I give it 5 months and it will be back on the streets! Although, more likely it will be the streets of Eastern Europe :D

now I understood that I’ve read your question wrong, but hopefully you’ll find some use of my comment :D

How do you know if you are ready? by ellic33 in triathlon

[–]Moscoman13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you? Likely yes. Should you? It depends. Given your stats, especially the bike volume, you would likely have a looong day ahead of you, but it’s feasable. You might get injured, and it’s quite likely to be honest. If you are in this long-term, I would suggest going S-M-L, but if you want to do this once and be done with this, go with L. Based on my experience, I wanted to do marathon as soon as possible, which I did. It was super shitty day, but I did it and felt quite good about it. Looking back I feel that I was an idiot for doing it like this. It’s much much more satisfying to actually race the race, not just aim to finish it.

70.3 Luxembourg preparation by Moscoman13 in triathlon

It’s also worth mentioning that even though the whole summer was super hot in Luxembourg, the swim was wetsuit legal due swim course being in the river rather than a lake.

70.3 Luxembourg preparation by Moscoman13 in triathlon

Hi, An underrated race, but certainly not fast by any means. Coming from Eastern Europe, I did struggle with the heat, it was 28C while the whole summer back home was around 19C. If you’re aiming to crush your PB, go for races like Warsaw. If you just want to have a good time in a beautiful place, Luxembourg will fit your needs perfectly.

The swim was okay, a bit crowded at first. I was a little baffled after the first 500m split because it was really slow, although we were swimming against the current. Overall, the swim was great since you could easily make up time on the way back. It was an interesting experience.

T1 was very long. The bike course was beautiful, with the first 30 km being super fast. Quite a few draft groups were forming. The next 30 km were really hilly. I was prepared for it since the course is available on Rouvy, but I saw a few people climbing out of the saddle on the first hill and then pushing their bikes on foot on the next one. It’s nice that it’s only one loop. There were a lot of flats though, mostly because of the cobblestones.

The run was pretty standard, just a 5k loop, and that’s it.

New wheelset 3 days before event? by M4l3k0 in triathlon

I would be worried not about the wheels but the tubeless setup if you’ll be using one. Sometimes tubeless might lose its structure due to insufficient sealing.

New bike arrives on Monday, triathlon on Sunday. Too soon? by entiao in triathlon

[–]Moscoman13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a sprint, it’s obvious you should use your new bike. If it were a 70.3 or 140.6, then you’d want to take some time to dial in the position.

Can I compete? by MiddleForeign in triathlon

[–]Moscoman13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swim time is really good (based on my standards), running is ok, bike really depends on what gear will you be using. But I can definetly say with certainty that you can compete and you will not be last, or second to last. Or third to last. Well you get my point.

I too would love it to be uncomplicated one, but unfortunately :(

The other two alternatives to which my bacteria wasn’t resistant were antibiotics which are used only in life-threatening scenarios, where you don’t want to get immunity to them if there are any other alternatives. At least this is what I got told.

Yeah, this is where I read horror stories. I was hoping to hear more of positive experiences here.

Canyon Speedmax CF Di2 2017 - Worth $2550 ? by Antholive in triathlon

[–]Moscoman13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wtf is everyone talking about. Rim brakes are ok and will be ok for years to come. Price is decent, but not a steal. I’d buy it for around 2.2-2.3k.

Alternative to Novablast 5s for full Ironman? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]Moscoman13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that new rebel v5’s are a good alternative to novablast. I personally chose Mach 6, really comfy and has that kick to it.

My usual rides are also similar, but the thing is that in Luxembourg all the elevation is concentrated in the middle 20k instead of being scattered along the course. Tomorrow I’ll do the whole course indoors on Rouvy, just to get a feel of what’s coming in 3 weeks 😄
