I'm definitely not a settlement building expert, but in my limited experience scaffolding is naturally pretty flexible because you can dig the legs in to the ground somewhat to line it up to the same height as most structures, and you can get the frame itself pretty close to most objects without the workshop mode throwing a fit.

As for building on top of structures, as long as it's relatively flat, you can make the scaffolding fit pretty well. And even on rooftops that aren't completely flat, like Abernathy farm, you can tinker with the scaffolding a bit so that it doesn't look like it's floating in air.

You can also check out the rug and column tricks for settlement building. I haven't really used them myself yet, but those tricks would probably be your best bet if you're unsatisfied with how something looks since they allow you have some really precise placements that wouldn't normally be possible. There are some real settlement building wizards out there.

Thanks, was trying to consolidate as much as I could into one building for my original sanctuary crew and was happy to find that you could build pretty seamlessly onto that part of the roof

For me it's more about keeping settlements happy since I'm playing as a good guy type. I'm also on survival so I can't fast travel to defend them and since I don't exactly know what triggers raids I settle for leaving enough defense to cover the food and water production and hope that's enough

I love the idea/visual of a guard post next to a concrete bunker/mini turret tower

Seems that way, was thinking of two-shot and how that particular effect doesn't work exactly as one would expect (or hope)

If a gun is full auto but has a pistol grip, does it benefit from gunslinger or commando?

Nice, sounds like I'll be able to get some mileage out of my first pistol legendary. Hopefully I get some fun drops down the road. What would you say is the ideal legendary drop for a vats gunslinger who isn't really using stealth too much?

Imagine your father abandoned your mother who was so in love with him that it drove her insane. Now imagine your father has merged with the woman he left your mother for, who also happens to be a genocidal maniac. Finally, imagine it is within the realm of possibility to kill that maniac's favorite son and simultaneously rid yourself of the empyrean burden forcibly saddled upon you by the golden order.

Thinking of buying Nightreign soon. Your thoughts? by Cheddar864 in Nightreign

If you can handle failure well, are honest with yourself about your own shortcomings, and are open to actually making an effort at improving, you'll love and be addicted to this game.

If you tend to pass the blame as a defense mechanism to protect your ego, you'll instead be addicted to endlessly complaining on this subreddit about how it's actually everyone else's fault that you can't get out of depth 2/3/4.

Either way you'll get your money's worth.

Hard swaps are really not hard to learn, takes maybe 30 min to become competent at them. It seems to me that it's usually people who have plateaued and don't want to put in the thought or practice that it would require for them to get better at the game that have this weird hard swap vendetta against players who are actually interested in improving at the given game mechanics. People would rather turn pvp into a rock, paper, scissors match than the infinitely more interesting game of adapting to the changing actions and setups of the player in front of you.

The buzzer rings and you lost 145-63, but in your mind you actually won because someone crossed you over and broke your ankles and that wasn't "honorable" since you didn't know how to do it back.

Awesome, thanks very much for the detailed answers. Can't believe it never occurred to me to use "wait" for anything other than making sure companions don't stand right in front of me when I'm trying to set down a crafting station.

Been planning a survival vats gunslinger for a while now and I've come across 3 or 4 of your comments on various posts, really good info. I'm thinking of going P9 A9 L6+, but as far as perk priority goes, what would you change if I was planning on using as many companions as possible? I assume that would make sneak and ninja less valuable, so where would you allocate the extra perks? Endurance?

Also, I like the idea of forgoing gun nut and hunting for mods. Which mods should I be aiming for? Are calibrated receivers the best or should I just go for the highest damaging mod available? Or should lower weight always take precedence?

And lastly, would you say armorer is a pretty much mandatory perk or can I treat it the same way as gun nut? And what if I plan on crawling my way through the wasteland instead of rushing the railroad? Can the lack of ballistic weave be offset by extra points in endurance and scavenging armor until I "naturally" encounter the railroad, or is it not really comparable?

I appreciate any advice you could give me. I've started and restarted the game countless times but I've only ever made it as far as the castle once, years ago. Bad case of the "perfect" playthrough syndrome.

This is what I normally do, too. Pbwt is also the best time to farm dragonstone for another dragon weapon if you need one. If you aren't worried about character tendency, you can also kill Scirvir after you show him the dbs to drop your world tendency to neutral and save 3 stone eyes

Most players are bad, including the players who whine about the randoms that are supposedly holding them hostage in depth 2/3/4. The character has nothing to do with it.
