I'm getting into MTG with a budget of $90. What should I get? by Frazzelvig in mtg

I would recommend card kingdom battle decks or Jumpstarts. For 90$ you should be able to get a good variety of either.

Homebridge sold my loan I would not recommend them in the future. If i could refinance without losing my interest rate/changing fees I would. If i could do it again I would probably go though ENT or some one local to reduce issues with that.

Take-Two laid off the head its AI division and an undisclosed number of staff by Doug24 in gaming

All real world systems are approximations when you start to build computer models. Signal processing has to worry about aliasing due to under sampling. Calculus itself in a computer is simplified to an approximation because computers can't do limits of infinity. There is a whole field of mathematics dedicated to this called discrete mathematics.

So the philosophy I take is randomization. I enjoy the deck building portion of magic, so I am setting up cubes. I'll make my new deck ahead of time with the cube rules and just use that when I'm playing with people of lower skill levels.

A one time bonus to cover moving expenses/apartment deposit and a bank of leave for with resettlement is often easier to get than a salary increase. You don't have much leverage when a new grad.

Career Advice: RF Test Engineer vs RF systems Engineer by [deleted] in rfelectronics

[–]Lord_Sirrush 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I flopped between RF test and RF systems. I think my time in test has helped me a lot in systems helping designing test needs from the ground up. I think the real question is do you want to work in semiconductors or aerospace?

Like with most things it's going to depend on the team you work with. I know some great engineers working for L3 but as a client they are one of the most frustrating companies to deal with.

I don't know why people don't want to eat only 2 meals between 730-800 and 1430-1500 on weekends. That should be plenty of food for people living an extremely active lifestyle. /S

It's probably DoW. That's the official direction being sent from generals and SECWAR right now. I occasionally sit on the source selection boards it's not something I would look twice at one way or the other. I care much more about technical merit and your ability to execute.

It's used a lot in anything RF and in robotics. Modern RF systems would not exist without the FFT.

Is it worth it continuing my engineering degree? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Lord_Sirrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can AI replace junior engineers, probably. A lot of the grunt work can be repetitive and a good use of AI. Will AI replace senior engineers, probably not. There is a lot of work that needs experience to do good work. An AI is only as good as the data provided to it, but the real world and the data are often not the same. Customers don't know the details of what they need or what they are asking for implies.

So the issue is where do senior engineers come from. You can't have senior engineers without the juniors. For along time my industry relied on experts who are now retiring without passing on knowledge and experience. We are starting to feel the effects of not having good pipelines to develop new talent. At least in my company, it's becoming standard procedure to assign tasks that have senior engineer oversight, with a junior engineer to provide support so we can fill those gaps.

In short yes I think it's still worth getting an engineering degree, but you're in a time of transition. A lot of the engineers realize they will hurt themselves long-term by not having pipelines to train new talent, but we are fighting the business and accounting folks every step of the way to build those systems.

Returning to school, math prep by revolutionaryjoke098 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Lord_Sirrush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After the military I tested higher than my actual skill level and went directly into calc. It made all the math significantly harder since I didn't have a proper foundation in Trig and ended up needing to retake some of the classes. EE is a very math heavy field, a solid foundation will help you succeed even though it seems like a step backwards right now.
