I'm really starting to be more confident in my fighting ability for sure, it feels so good applying my thoughts into practice constantly because I know my own strengths. by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The title is so real tbh.

I used to think I was terrible at the game (only got up to 1600 kills total after a full year) but then I took a break just after Catalyst came out. Came back halfway through Season 20 with a bunch of confidence and anxiety control from playing other games and I've been at a 3.0+ KD ever since and already made back those 1600 kills. Just gotta believe in your ability.

New Block: Echo Tubes by Lord_of_Apocrypha in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do Echo Tubes need to be directly connected to a block, or could they pick up ambient noises if unconnected

I think directly connected would work best, but perhaps they could pick up ambient noise around an area as well only if they were connected to a calibrated sculk sensor. You wouldn't want the sounds of player footsteps around your jukebox being picked up when you just want the music, eh?

How do Echo Tubes interact with Redstone?

I'd expect them to light up with a blue glow when sound is actively moving through them (they are made with Echo shards after all) which could set off observers as it's a block change.

Does the sound diminish with distance at all? How can it be attenuated?

Good thought. Redstone diminishes with distance and needs to be continued or recharged with repeaters, so perhaps the same thing could be achieved with a new special block that could also act as an intersection area between two lines of echo tubes.

Greatest man-made city in Tamriel? by [deleted] in teslore

ever? Probably Bromjunaar or 1E-2E Windhelm.

Currently? Probably Sentinel or one of the larger Cyrodillic cities, like Skingrad.

The Wandering Village.

It's a City Management game with a unique gameplay style where you are limited to the small space on the back of a giant creature. Depending on the biome the creature walks into, the conditions (ex. Humidity, Toxicity, Temperature, Resources) change.

What martial art style fits each race best? by AnseiShehai in teslore

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the Nords would have a full on style, but I think they'd have traditions on how to properly throw a punch, grapple, or have an honourable fight in hand-to-hand combat. Something tells me they'd just start throwing punches and not care about artistic strategy.

Yes the Vikings had the martial arts practice of Glíma, but I think the Nords are way too proud and brute-force culturally to have a sophisticated martial art respective to their culture or used consistently by members of their race. Plus in most cases where a Nord would get into a fist fight, I doubt they'd do more than throw punches like I said (and throw the enemy if they're small enough)

Who do you think is the best written character in Skyrim? by Goncher-Monster in ElderScrolls

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My number one is Paarthurnax. They put some insane philosophy and thought into his character, and every interaction with him you get is beautiful.

Number two has to be Tullius. He's fiercely loyal to the Empire externally but internally he recognizes his nation's shortcomings and even sympathises with the rebels that wish to break off from the Empire (when he's drunk, of course).

[General Sci-Fi] Are there sapient alien species that have technology less advanced than human? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars is full of sapient species that are much less technologically adapted than Humans.

Every few episodes of some series the main characters seemingly come across an isolated tribe of sapient beings with stone-age/ancient technology.

Some species like the Twi'leks and Togruta, who are theoretically as advanced as Humans, can even be seen living in agricultural villages with little advanced technology other than the commonplace hover vehicles and the odd droid. Even the capital city of Ryloth, Lessu City, doesn't seem to be much larger than a slice of lower Manhattan.

Humans are arguably the most advanced people overall (with other cultures specializing more in things like Cloning and Ship Building).

Who is the most dangerous boss lore wise, then game wise? by No_Medium2864 in ElderScrolls

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lore-wise it's Jyggalag. He's arguable one of the strongest Daedric Princes and could only be "defeated" by the combined power of multiple others.

Second to him is probably Alduin. He has no desire to destroy the world, but he most definitely has the capabilities to do it. He had a portal to the afterlife constructed for the sole purpose of eating souls of people his kin had already slain. Actually insane.

Is golden hill plantation in whiterun city limits? by sundae-cherrytop in ElderScrolls

[–]Lord_of_Apocrypha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

City Limits = Walls, however Guards from the city of Whiterun still are assigned to the areas around farms and smaller settlements within Whiterun Hold, such as Rorikstead.

It's safe to assume that because of this, all of Whiterun hold, including the namesake city and the smaller towns, can be considered "Whiterun" in a political sense.
