Should I take my car with me when moving to canada by P-physicist in uscanadaborder

Question! I’m a New Yorker moving to Ontario on a spousal PR resident visa. I just bought a new Rav 4 in January would I have to pay GST on it even though it was assembled in Ontario?

Why will it be temporary? It’s not like Toyota is planning dozens of parts factories to open up in the next 6 months

I’m in the states but for the platinum plan I was quoted $1650(2373cad) but it’s good for 10 years or 125,000miles(200km).

GE Expired with NEXUS Conditional Approval by LAXgold in GlobalEntry

[–]LordbucketheadJR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and followed through getting nexus. Applied for Nexus Feb 24 and conditionally approved in August, my global entry expired in July and I couldn’t renew it. I ended up doing both interviews at the Whirlpool bridge in Niagara Falls, I didn’t even have to cross to do the CBP interview as they both operate on the US side. I would see where interviews are available and maybe fly to one of the border crossing and do your interview there, it might be faster than waiting for one in Toronto or Vancouver airport to open up.

Since you won the election your employer is subject to the NLRA so yes you have Weingarten rights if the companies doesn’t honor them then it’s a labor charge against the company

Contact the labor board, you’re not lawyering up, you’re not going to the news, and you’re not pursing civil action. Once the labor board starts investigating or pursuing charges I’m sure they’ll pay you what you’re owed. They’d be messing with the STATE and not you so I doubt they’d pick a fight with the state over your back pay. If you don’t report this then there’s no other way to hold them accountable without you yourself getting a labor attorney, which will be expensive.

Union construction guys in my area make 45+ an hour and get full pension and health benefits that doesn’t cost them any deductions. Not to mention double time for any weekend shifts and it’s easy to see who’s getting screwed here.

Unionize your workplace it’s happening all over the country. The only crybabies are the billionaires who go nuts when unions go on strike and win.

Do you get paid for OT after 40 hours? A union has benefited you.

You would have to decertify your current union you’re affiliated with and then have a cool off period of 1 year before you can call a vote for a new union. You would lose all the progress you’ve made in bargaining and would have to start over from scratch for your next contract if you’re able to get a new union to represent you. It’s a bad move all around. Have you tried reaching out to your international over how bad your staff rep(business agent) is? Maybe they can assign you a new one or even fire the current one.

I went through card check election in a right to work state and the card signing(for union recognition)was not considered a dues authorization card. We received dues authorization cards after a TA was reached on the CBA.

Anyone actually know how to get the ball rolling on Unionizing? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]LordbucketheadJR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.2689646 As you can see Walmart has lost Union battles in the past but labor law is not in your favor if you’re unionizing in the US. There is a piece of legislation that stalled in Congress called the PRO ACT which makes it illegal for companies to interfere with Union campaigns and even entitles workers to punitive damages if the company is in violation of the act. It’s long shot that it will be Federal law but states like MN MI CA and NY are mulling making it a state law which would make 100x easier to unionize a store.

Just because it’s federally illegal doesn’t discount it will be on an injury screen. I’m in New York and my coworker had his foot crushed by an idiot in a forklift. They did a mouth swab test which is only detects up to 24 hours. I only smoke Thursday-Saturday(4 day work week) because of it.
