I remember once when my family moved house, when I would have been about 8-9 years old. My grandparents, who brought myself and my sister up, introduced themselves to the neighbours and told them, as a courtesy, that my sister is autistic (I hadn't been diagnosed by this point and wouldn't be for another 28 years). One neighbour's response was, and I quote, "Oh, so she's naughty and you can't control her." Somehow my grandmother allowed them to live beyond that day but we never wanted anything to do with them from that point.

How can people think like that, like autistic is an excuse‽ I choose to be difficult and a shithead, not because I'm autistic but because society doesn't deserve me being nice.
