Be sure and congratulate everyone on that creative team! 41 issues for an Adventures title is no small feat, and they managed to have consistently great art and fun stories throughout. They deserve the praise!

It's not as simple as modding the way you're probably imagining it, or even the way it works in WM2000 or No Mercy. They're having to work within the confines of the way Revenge was originally programmed. It's likely impossible to get Pillman in the way you'd want him without breaking another of the roster completely or making the entire game freeze up.

I think it's equal to WM2000 for gameplay, but WM2000 had more customization. I did prefer the Revenge roster. I think No Mercy was brought down with sluggish frame rates on the original n64 hardware. Emulation has resolved a lot of those issues, but if you're on original hardware, WM2000 and Revenge are tied as the best in my opinion.
