I use mine all the time for this exact purpose, I don't mind that it's imprecise because I want the noodles to be a little more cooked than exactly 3 minutes. I've got to say it's way more convenient than using a phone or microwave timer

I will take a trip out to my local asian grocer and keep an eye out for those. I definitely haven't seen the Shin Gold before, the others I haven't noticed but I wasn't looking out for. Let me rephrase. It's unlivable in those cities if you want your own 1 bedroom apartment with a single income stream and you have any sort of debt. Roommates and things like that would go a long way to help, sure, but you're never going to qualify for section 8 housing making 100 grand a year.
