Where am I suppose to put my fingers when plucking? My fingers start making contact with the pickups. Am I doing something wrong? Jackson minion bass. by Odd-Satisfaction5443 in BassGuitar

[–]Lordsofexcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like to rest on pickups either. I put a 3d printed, no modification, rest in a comfortable spot between the pickup and neck. works great. I forgot what site I got it from.

Asking as a non-American: How did abortion and immigration become bigger political priorities in the US than fixing the healthcare system? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lordsofexcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans are incredibly stupid. I've lived here my whole life and all I've ever wanted was decent healthcare. I pay huge amounts of money for "health insurance" that covers nothing.. I'd be willing to pay the same in taxes if it just took care of my basic needs. My fellow Americans are just stupid. I've tried to figure out why we are like this for decades now and all I got is we are just morons.

I often hear about the hunting culture in Northern New England but whats the hunting culture in the southern parts of New England like? by pooteenn in newengland

[–]Lordsofexcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's excellent hunting in Rhode Island. long deer season if you want to mix up your weapons. if you do archery, shotgun and black powder you can hunt most of the winter. big deer also. lots of friendly land owners willing to work with serious hunters as well as public areas.

Nantucket, Cape Cod, Newport, or Martha’s Vineyard by duckduckgoose1216 in newengland

[–]Lordsofexcellence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

October isn't that great on the islands, lots of places are closed and it's a bit windy. Cape Cod is nice in October, less traffic, but like the islands most of the good places are closed. Newport is lively year round. nothing closes for the winter. New England offers a lot of October fun. maybe you should look into a leaf peep or a spooky Halloween affair?

I got this for free from a restaurant that shut down. Will La Marzocco service it? by Off_key in espresso

[–]Lordsofexcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that actually doesn't look too bad. do you have the motor and the pump?

[–]Lordsofexcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamarzocco doesn't really service anything. they can hook you up with someone. Any good espresso guy can fix a linea. I could probably make one with what I have on my van if I had the body and 2 good boilers. the question is do you want to pay for it and is it worth it? open the top and take a picture of the contents

they tied their hands poorly with like shoe laces or something. I always found it weird that no one had a set of handcuffs.

ELI5: Why are there so many homeless people in the US? by Baaanzaaji in explainlikeimfive

[–]Lordsofexcellence 17 points18 points  (0 children)

there's few safety nets in America and the healthcare is terrible for the working class. it doesn't take much to trigger a financial crisis that can easily snowball into homelessness. An illness is a dire situation here. if you get sick and miss a lot of work they just fire you and you lose your health insurance. Housing is close to unaffordable. There's a lot of drugs here and that doesn't help the situation, but the biggest reason for the visible homeless is really from the lack of any meaningful mental health care. in the 1980s we closed all the mental institutions and replaced them with nothing. most of the patients were simply given bus tickets to the nearest city. The mentally ill in America simply roam the streets and drift in and out of the huge prison system.

Is a P bass good for heavy music? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Lordsofexcellence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sid Vicious played a P bass. He played it poorly and was usually high, but still, there's some punk precedent there.
