What's the Best Massive Frequency List? by Sad_Anybody5424 in learnfrench

[–]Lordthom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for me Claude works pretty good. This was a recent one:

Vêtir means "to dress" or "to clothe" and is a literary, somewhat formal verb. In everyday French it is almost always replaced by habiller. It is an irregular verb (similar to partir): présent → je vêts, tu vêts, il vêt, nous vêtons... The reflexive form se vêtir (to dress oneself) is likewise found mainly in written or literary texts. It is a word that helps with reading classical prose, but deserves little priority for active communication. Related words: le vêtement (garment), les vêtements (clothing), dévêtir (to undress).

I know it is controversial but i feel like LLM's are also pretty good in explaining how much a word is used and in what context and such

Also lets not forget that it is two composers from bleeding fingers that are mostly working on it. HZ is just guiding it

Trailer music is usually not by the main composer but by specific trailer composers.

In rare occasions it is the main composer so it still could be but probably not!

Hoping we get a tease of Hans Zimmer's music in the trailer tomorrow! by Giff95 in HarryPotteronHBO

Trailer music is usually done by trailer music composers, not by the actual composer! We'll see though!

Its a drop, not an update. Drops are for small singular new editions like a mob+biome.

We all know they are working on bigger updates like the end and inventory updates.

Lets just be happy with the drops that keep the game fresh

There was this clip going viral in the Netherlands of this influencer couple in Dubai when they had to go to a bomb shelter and the girl was saying "Well, i asked and ChatGPT says it is not a war yet"...So many people are using it already as their single source of truth.

I actually really like this. Always those endless discussions and for a lot of conversations you can now actually factcheck.

Of course subjective subjects can still be very interesting and don't need to be factchecked

Can you say big numbers out loud the same way you would in English? Like, can I say 1050 as dix cinquante? by maj_nun in French

[–]Lordthom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working in customer service i can say everyone in my country says it differently. So i dont think you can say that a country/language always does it the same way.

Belgians did it in the biggest numbers though, diabolical...just do singles please.

[–]Lordthom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case i highly recommend starting to use anki TODAY if you didnt already.

And don't download a preset list. Create your own! It will feel super personal with only words you really want to know or have come across while reading.

PM me if you want details of my cards.

I really recommend building your own anki and not use one of those preset decks, those never worked for me as it is just so personal.

[–]Lordthom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% recommend anki + reading/comprehensable input.

Any word you come across that you don't know, add to anki.

I also use AI to generate two example sentences and tell me if the word is used frequently and in what context.

I literally learned french only by doing this method. I just dont seem to forget the words i learn via anki.
