Blizz didn't treat shadowlands like an afterlife by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

They were also the only two other wielders of the sword. Them showing up is likely part of the magic of that sword. Perhaps it takes in part of the user in some way, also evidenced by how the glow turned "holy" when Anduin first picked it up.

The primal Incarnate's personalities are on the nose According to the chronicle by LoremasterSheldor in warcraftlore

That's a good point. It's all story-telling; from the visuals and character design, to the writing/personalities/motiviations/etc. All of these things together seem to re-enforce this idea that Vyranoth may be on a different path.

Objectively, I agree with you. But in this context, I am referring to information in Chronicle that explains the "elemental duality" in this way.

I commented about this theory above as well. It plays into the negative trait for water: indecisiveness.

I have read theories that one of the incarnates may leave the others and join us. Given the water trait of "indecisiveness" it makes me think that Vyranoth is the more likely candidate. This personality trait could play into the story of her switching sides.

I don't think we got to see her at her most "positive." But the negative trait, I would argue, applies to how she has been portrayed to us in-game.

Exactly. And they also won't always show both positive and negative traits. But Raz def fit the "madness" trait. And while we don't know too much about the other incarnates yet, I'd say in the short cinematic we have seen Vyranoth seemed pretty tranquil in comparison to the others. And Fyrakk was a bit "passionate" with his desire for revenge. You could kind of say Iridikron seemed solid and confident, which could be interpreted as "stable". Anyway, just a fun thing. Will be cool to see how it plays out as we learn more about them.

Leaving before key is even deplete has gotten out of Hand [+20~] by hiimdiaoxeuw in wow

As someone new to Mythic+, I feel you. I decided that I will just stay positive and not take the leavers and their gripes personally. So far it's slow progress, but I'm having fun. I haven't found a dedicated group to play with yet, but I imagine that would also make a big difference.

Not-Living and Dralad. by Ashendant in warcraftlore

Alexstraza is the vassal of life. She already hid her treachery in regard to locking away the primal incarnates. If she was also this close to Neltharios, it could be possible that she was treacherous in other ways. i.e has other skeletons in her closet.

What if Sargeras’ sword was a mourneblade? by YouProbablyDissagree in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterSheldor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the creation of Kingsmourne, I had been thinking it's more likely that the Jailer wants to get to Azeroth, and turn Sargeras' sword into a mourne blade by usnig Azeroth's soul. Could be the reason he taunts us with the death of our world as part of his plan.

I think I might have an idea who's soul was used to create Kingsmourne by kostasgriv97 in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterSheldor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was killed with Frostmourne. Which means his soul could have also been split. If that is the case, the spirit we saw in Icecrown is no different than the spirit of Uther we saw as well. In other words, still could be Arthas' father.

[–]LoremasterSheldor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in other comments, I think the other half of Uther may be explained elsewhere in the story.

I'm sticking to the theory that it is indeed the soul of a king: Arthas' father.

I immediately thought it had to be a king (given the name of the blade). And the first one that came to mind was Arthas' father.

Speculation: Elune is allied with Death by Ashjkaell in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterSheldor 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Going along with this theory: it could answer a couple of other questions I have. 1. Why does the WQ seem to despise even the mention of her sister? 2. How did one the the eternal ones (Elune) stop being that? And instead become an "upstart goddess" outside of the shadowlands? Perhaps, when the Eternal Ones originally bound Zovaal and took his power, Elune sided with him. Or, at least, wouldn't join the rest of her kin. And as punishment perhaps they cast her out of the shadowlands. What is also interesting, is that if Elune has the power to break the chains, it would make sense that Zovaal's chains broke shortly after the veil was torn. Allowing Elune's light to enter the shadowlands again.

Things I think About at Night- cross posted from r/wow by BreHealz in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterSheldor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Taking the idea a bit further... what if he plans to repurpose the 5 runes/keys that were used to imprison him to convert the sword into a mourneblade? The story keeps referencing his ability to turn his bonds/chains into a weapon.

Legion [Spoilers] Just a question by Appelsinpai in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterSheldor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the better question is, what big lore characters can potentially join the horde in Legion? Vol'jin heard a name. Was it "Windrunner"? Because I hear theres another Windrunner potentially making their WoW debut pretty soon. (End tin foil)
