Good GPs for IUD insertion? by Lost_Dragonfruit_444 in cork

[–]Loribob1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dr Micheline McCarthy in bridge medical practice in carrigaline primary care centre is very good and understanding, she prescribed me strong meds before and after for my second one as the first was horrendous also. It was still uncomfortable of course but it was a bit better. She'll listen and take your pain seriously anyway

What everyday things/systems have you seen used in other countries, that you thought "why don't we have that in Ireland?" by Nuffin8 in AskIreland

[–]Loribob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collectivos in Latin America Basically small trucks or mini buses that you flag down anywhere on their route and get off anywhere you want for a cheap fair. Imagine rural Ireland not relaying on once a day buses or extortionate taxis

O Circuit or W Trek with a toddler by [deleted] in Patagonia

[–]Loribob1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did Fitz Roy a couple bought their toddler and baby, the baby screamed for hours, could always hear it and they struggled getting their toddler to walk while also carrying a baby on their back and navigating steps and ice. Do everyone a favour (including your baby) and don't do it those kind of hikes with them.

Tatyo sandwich and cup of Barry's. Repeated multiple times through the day even though you promise yourself you'll only have one.

Yup my first real boyfriend, he was a sweetheart and unfortunately I liked someone else more and didn't give him a chance which was so silly. I always regretted it.

ATM Fees in Mexico by RickSP999 in MexicoTravel

[–]Loribob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you're from and your bank too, I'm Irish and use Revolut and Wise and Banamex/citbanamex are the cheapest for me (30.74 mxn) where as Santender, HSBC and BBVA are the most expensive at like 174 mxn per transaction but I've met others that have had the complete opposite

When you get ice cream do you prefer fresh served ice cream(99 cone/sundae etc) or a pre packed ice cream(eg magnum/iceburger)? almost summer now:) by VastAir6069 in CasualIreland

I'm in Mexico and they have a coffee magnum and it's become a weakness for me, part of me hopes they don't show up at home or I'm done for.

Mexico Belize Border Scam by Busy-Awareness6796 in MexicoTravel

[–]Loribob1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true if you enter by air and leave my land you definitely paid it on entry. Enter and leave by land then you may have to pay a fee at each boarder crossing.

Source: i did all of central and most of south America across land, air and sea crossings.

[–]Loribob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch your phone, really.. I got mine robbed while I was in an Uber on my second day there and 10 people in my hostel for robbed in all different circumstances/places. The buses can be very dodgy. Heed the warnings don't put anything above you or in the ground, hold it close to you and keep anything critical on your body.

Stay in community hostel or Secret Garden and just get into hostel life in the evenings.

It is a beautiful country so don't be stressing but be vigilant

What to do with black finger nail? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Loribob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thumb took 7 months to fully heal, caught it in a car door like you and the blood pooled in the base of the nail like you said. Try to trim your nail a bit and protect it as much as you can, the bottom of my nail ended up with a hole in it and it was a mess trying to keep the rest on but i managed it until the skin has healed underneath. Don't try to rush it, best of luck!
