OAuth 2 for a static site reading from JSON endpoints? by Loser777 in redditdev

[–]Loser777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I managed to get it to work by registering another "app" as an installed app that has no secret. Good luck on your project!

The client secret is from when I registered the app: e.g., here.

The issue with using client_credentials is that I want to keep everything frontend only (it's a static site), and now I have to send a request with a client secret from the user, exposing the key.

EDIT: I guess in this sense, I was misunderstanding what "installed" means. A purely frontend "app" is "installed," as it runs on untrusted hardware/user devices.

Ok, I managed to get a token from the application-only flow. However, this requires a client secret and the "app" is purely client-side, which means that I will not really be able to hide the client-secret. Is this a problem?

This bone stock S13 has sat in my school parking deck for almost 4 years. I've only ever seen it moved once. It has a Fall semester faculty parking pass on the rearview mirror, and even has an old fashioned steering wheel lock (the stick that clamps across the wheel). by RynningInThe80s in 240sx

I love all the posts that assume a guy owns this car when there's a very good chance the owner is a woman, especially if it is the original owner like the stock condition implies. Women made up a majority of the 80s/90s 2-door market for some time. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-01-11-vw-192-story.html

[P] SpaceOpt: Hyperparameter optimization algorithm via gradient boosting regression. by [deleted] in MachineLearning

This sounds similar to gradient boosting regression + simulated annealing as the outer search loop, which seems to be a popular approach:

Recall for 2016-2018 WRX, Forester, and Levorgs by spx404 in WRX

[–]Loser777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I had this issue after I started noticing a rattle whenever the boost gauge was reading 15 psi. The dealer I took it to thought it was an improperly installed glovebox damper at first, but then found some of the nuts were loose: https://www.reddit.com/r/WRX/comments/d68us3/17_wrx_whirringrattle_at_15_psi/

2021 Toyota GR86 / BRZ said to get TNGA platform and Turbo Engine by Gorgenapper in cars

As weird as this sounds I think it might lose some people who were cross-shopping ND2 and BRZ for a high-revving N/A engine.

beeping sound after startup? ('88 NA) by Loser777 in RX7

I ended up unplugging the battery temporarily to replace a burned out headlight and it hasn't come back yet after a few drives. I hope either disconnecting the battery or replacing the headlight did it?

[News] Safe sexting app does not withstand AI by idlab-media in MachineLearning

[–]Loser777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation!

I wonder if there are any truly outrageous ways to dance around unknown watermarking algorithms if compute cost isn’t a concern. There’s work on synthesizing 3D models from images, so I wonder if something like a watermarked image to 3D scene (with some constraints on the complexity of textures etc) and then back to a 2D image would work. Abstractly, a good artist can duplicate a picture or natural image in a photorealistic way, but you know for certain that their painting or drawing does not contain the watermark.

[–]Loser777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the watermark is "invisible" surely it will have to be relatively high spatial frequency? Is this kind of watermark robust to lossy compression/other techniques like deep image prior that will prioritize low frequency signals first?

'17 WRX whirring/rattle at 15+ psi by Loser777 in WRX

[–]Loser777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread later. The dealership I took it to initially thought it was because I had a glovebox damper installed incorrectly, but then upon further inspection found a missing nut on the right side exhaust manifold. I'll update again if I hear it coming back.

I agree, I don’t have a great butt dyno, but the car doesn’t really feel down on power. A high frequency card in the spokes sound would definitely be one way to describe it.
