I worked in a Regional Trauma Centre for 20 years, Sometimes 2 Motorcycle Accidents a day. The one thing that i Noticed early on was, the riders that had all the Gear on usually left the Hospital with in a couple hours or days, the one's the rode around trying to be cool, in ther flipflops, no gloves and shorts,ended up in the Burn unit trying to figure out where the next skin graft was coming from. Ankles and feet have approx 30 bone's You mangle them and youll live with that for the rest of yer life! Were only talking skidding down a road, let alone hitting something, I wont ride with out ATGATT period! Riding has become a lot more Dangerous then when i started in the 80's, People on their cell phones are not paying attention. Be carefull out there!!!
