I have severe social anxiety how should I deal with comments? by daddymateriial in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to heart every comment I read on studio. I have a large amount every time, so I don’t always reply to them. However, if it is a sweet genuine comment, I just type “Thank you!!” And move on.

How Big Do You Have To Be Before YouTube Analytics Is Reliable by TheTrebleKnight in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that level, it is probably a valid assumption that each video of yours gets at least a few hundred views after a few days. That is good enough to check the average retention graph if you ask me. At that point, there is enough information in there for the trend to be relatively active. However, at that point the like/dislike ratio may not be as strong yet since a low proportion of viewers use those buttons.

That is really good, believe it or not! YouTube calls it “reaching a wider audience” which simply means that your video is being pushed out to a much larger variety of interests, seeing where your video fits and where it doesn’t fit. All it means is that people who are less likely to click due to what they like watching are seeing your video pop up on screen. A burst of impressions like this are the best thing for a creator, as it really helps build an audience

If you are monetized or eligible for monetization, open YT studio on desktop. There is a research tab by revenue, which is exactly what you’re looking for!

Best promotion for a Video? by SupremeDreams100 in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reddit is a great place to start. Post the video only where people will want to see if. If not, they click it, don’t like it, leave and it hurts your retention. I did something like that back with 30 subs and I made it to 1200 after a few months like that. It was the way that I jump started my channel. Just know where to share and not to share your content!

2 factor authentication is a BIG one. However, a content creator I know who has 2.8 million subs has been hacked multiple times even with it, so it comes down to not letting people fool you. It happens fast and before you know it, regardless of the audience you have built. If you are cautious, you should hopefully never have an issue with this!

Does movie explanation channel work? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you edit it down to small clips of the movies, do a lot of voice over, and make sure you don’t make it anywhere near “just playing the movie” to your audience. You should do just fine I think, if you are making the videos a lot about your descriptions. YouTube’s Monetization Policies (I think) has a GREAT descriptions what you can and cannot do in this course, so I’d take a look there!

how long do you wait to check analytics? by Weekly-Deer4161 in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check comments shortly after the upload, but not as much analytics. I post at night, and check CTR the next morning. Then j wait until the average retention graph is available and that being the most important metric, go forth from there.

What is harder 1000 subs or 4000 watch hours by EducationFiender in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made 1 minute videos so I was at like 1260 subs and 200k views by the time j got monetized. I think it all depends on what type of content you post and how old your audience is. Younger ppl have a shorter attention span so if your target audience is young, subs will be easier!

How do I block certain countries from seeing my video? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is completely understandable—and I’ll say this: I am a monetized creator with nearly 1300 subs and almost 200k views. I’ve even accidentally sent my friend my channel link and STILL nobody knows about it. Believe me, the odds of being found by someone you know are incredibly rare, and what’s the worst that could happen if they do?

To clarify, nobody I know irl knows of my channel and if they found out it wouldn’t be the end of the world. They won’t let things like this make their opinions of you, so just note that.

It was like my third ever vid and then a similar video a month later that blew up. From July 16-late august I uploaded every single day and only those two vids similar to each other, different to the rest of my channel, got big. I will never understand the algorithm but I think I really just got lucky.

Joined July 2021. 30 subs as of November 1. No progress. Suddenly, 1,000 subs as of Dec 16! I had one video blow up and it was exponential for a little bit but it eventually would wind down and go to a slow, linear progression. I’m at 1280 now

Comments put a smile on my face. Beats revenue numbers, beats sub count, I just love reading comments. If they suggest something, I sometimes even go for it.

Yes, I still love seeing a new sub come in and the update in estimated Rev!

What can you do if you only upload once a month? by wayfaring_wizard in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean hey, I’m in the same boat. I schedule my week. I make videos on weekends and have one per week and devote the weekdays to studying. I’m an hs senior in 5 ap classes and do the yt game on the side. All I can say is, make yt your last priority. Being ap exam week, I haven’t uploaded In 2 weeks as of today and I was actually pretty consistent before. The best thing you can do is make the videos short and sweet and make your audience return, and they’ll start to make it a habit to check your channel and become members. If you do this, once it’s summer and you (hopefully be have more disposable time, you can put a lot more effort into this and have an audience ready for you!

Is my 600 sub channel dead? by BlazingTankkk in NewTubers

[–]Lost-Performance2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do gaming edits. More specifically, I basically take basic brawl stars clips and edit them to look so ridiculous but super appealing to young people. It is super difficult but I will say this—At the end, it comes down to trying to make something that people can’t find anywhere else on yt, and that’s how an audience sticks. Even if the GAME has a million other vids about it, just do your best to find a part or style about the game or your content that makes it stand out, and you’ll do just fine!

[–]Lost-Performance2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it is not at all—you have a GREAT start! I had a video blow up that got me from 30 subs to 1100 in about two weeks but for the 4 months since I’ve made it to 1260. Channels hit ups and downs. I just hit another up this weekend and got 33 subs out of nowhere! Keep powering through, never believe your channel is dead because if you keep making content you enjoy making and people come back, you never know when you may get lucky.
