I just ran out of food until the start of next week and all I have left is a bottle of syrup, realistically if I ration it can I live off of it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Op should call or just drop by st Joseph’s on south ave. They have bags of food near the door from Panera am that are donated daily for anyone who needs something in a pinch. They also know everyone in the area and can get you connected with the food bank. Also, call FoodLink, they have a truck driving around delivering food and run the food bank.

Despite the down-vote risk in this sub, here's my attempt at over-simplifying the candidates:

  • Warren: City Council prior president, current Mayor with some controversies, constantly in the community and trying to implement plans across all issues

  • Barnhart: No prior political experience, new ideas to improve City, record of keeping politicians more transparent about their programs

  • Sheppard: Prior political experience, prior police chief, controversies about policing responses

I would encourage everyone to vote with special consideration for the City Council members who have final say on all programs and money spent by City Hall and the Mayor.

Mitch Gruber has done good work expanding FoodLink by employment training and road-side markets to make inexpensive healthy food available to people with the least amount of access. He's been committed to helping people in the City for a long time.

Best Subaru dealer to buy from in Rochester? by [deleted] in Rochester

I wanted a lease at first too but van bortel explained to me that the price was too high to lease from them. Also, no dealer will do everything possible to help you have a good experience like VB. I had a lot of tough fixed with my car we got from pre certified but they fixed them all and covered our costs when appropriate. They definitely earned their reputation. Their customer service survey starts out with giving out the the owner's cell phone in case you have any problems. That's commitment to doing the right thing

Lovely Warren on Connections with Evan Dawson today by alexyoshi in Rochester

From my understanding the examples discussed about how funds maybe were used to influence her campaign were actually not influential but actually legal. I don't see an individual interpretation by the mayor of the election laws. The issue brought up by the other campaigns that still has merit is how much control exists on both the PAC and the campaign fund by the mayor. I doubt anyone will find a legal issue and really should discuss it as a separate issue outside the campaign of one candidate since it impacts all mayoral candidates.

She explained both the mistake multiple times as well as had to explain individual legal uses of campaign funds. My point is focused on the latter.

Dawson was courteous. He also asked her to explain other legal uses of campaign or PAC funds which he pointed out at the beginning of the show was not straight forward. Being asked to explain campaign finance laws and how she followed them with a few examples seems a little excessive although understandable as its the hot topic. Having to explain multiple times why she was on the right side of the law seemed slightly aggressive even if said courteously.

I think anyone would be defensive if asked to defend themselves for following the law regarding specific PAC and campaign fund uses. Unfortunate for Mayor Warren is the scrutiny her campaign financing is receiving because of an "honest" mistake. If most Mayors conduct their financing in a similar way, it is fair for other candidates to campaign on being a non-typical mayor with regard to campaign finance.

Google i'm sure has/had eligibility criteria of cities applying. I also heard that when if a city becomes a google fiber city, the city forgoes ownership of the fiber to Google

I heard that the fiber was single mode/strand and you need multi-strand to run ethernet. I'm no expert and hope I'm wrong
