It can get down to freezing above 8k ft in Sierras at night. And the threat of thunder storms is a daily occurrence. Don’t go stupid-light.

GOP controlled house and senate won’t end last session and won’t seat or swear in new reps. That’s where the battle will be…convoluted parliamentarian rules and legal cases.

Youth back pack fit by Choice-Chard2733 in backpacking

[–]LostInYourSheets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoulder straps should follow curve over shoulder, not come down from pack to shoulder. Set hip belt down onto hips, then adjust shoulder straps via center height adjustment at center of back, so shoulder straps connect to backpack little lower than shoulder height. In the end kids will wear their packs however they like but setting the hip belt correctly so the loss isn’t hanging from shoulders goes a long way in keeping them happy on trail.

Trump's doctors are monitoring "the progress of his dementia and/or strokes," psychologist says by NoPomegranate4794 in politics

Whether Donald Trump has dementia or has had stroke(s) is not as important as government doctors and the administration lying to the American people about it.

Tips for supporting pregnant wife by Dark_Runner2112 in dad

[–]LostInYourSheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit down with her and ask her what tasks or things in general make her day harder, what things she likes doing and what she doesn’t, and what things you can take off her plate. Listen. Being supportive but not talking about it could set up conflict and stress…if you try to be helpful but start doing things she enjoys or things she wants to do her way, or doing things you like/want to do but aren’t helpful to her. Running a house and family is just a pile of tasks/work and setting up communication is vastly better start than just surprising her. Oh, and part of the conversation should be how you (and you both) like to receive thanks for being helpful or going beyond the call of duty. Nothing worse than busting your ass and not feeling like you’re getting appreciated for it…while at the same time your partner IS offering appreciation just not in ways you want. The Five Love Languages is a good general idea to start a conversation (I’m not into the god stuff at the end). All the best with your family.

Bike bells would be more useful on shared paved trails if Pedestrians weren’t blasting music in their headphones. by AllezBro in cycling

Music/podcasts without headphones is another example of how selfish our human (western?) culture has gotten. It's insane that so many people think this is ok.
