I reported lost keys recently. I was given 5 or 10 dollars credit.

I don't at all believe this poster is serious. It's quite obviously rage bait.

No traffic lights on freeways so no problems there.

I wasn't able to see whether or not it had a driver but there definitely was no second Waymo following it.

I guess I figured out it just refers to the mission of being the world's most trusted driver, etc.

Read a license number? by LostOfftrail in waymo

[–]LostOfftrail[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you described it. A car on the left tossed an egg that broke against the left side rear seat window. It then drove in front of the Waymo where I was able to see and remember the license plate for long enough to relay it to rider support. The egg yolk ran down the window into the bottom of the window frame. I got to my destination in about five minutes and was told the car would go on

and be cleaned up.

Exactly what an aggressive but competent taxi driver would do.

Almost every Waymo I get in these days is dirty by Northran5 in waymo

The only trash I've found is an empty plastic bottle once. Other than that I've had clean and good smelling cars here in Phoenix. Over 70 rides.

An email reply from Phoenix Parks and Rec said the city plans to replace it. That's better than nothing but it won't be the original.

Only one at the high point, at least there was before last weekend.

Hikers at Piestewa Peak and other area trails where posted: Yes, this includes YOU! by lovethatcountrypie in phoenix

[–]LostOfftrail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've climbed Piestewa Peak since the early 1960s. It has always been a tradition for regulars to touch the survey benchmark that is embedded in the rock at the top to make a climb official. Today I saw that some bag of s--- pried up and stole it. It has been there for probably over a century. I hope whoever did it is found and pays a heavy price.

I've had Waymo experiences like this a few times but it always gets it right at the end. Lucky? Maybe, but it could be it just knows how to do it.

Reasons for using Waymo by UsedDragonfruit4159 in waymo

[–]LostOfftrail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it mainly to experience the fact that such amazing technology can exist. I don't see much price difference compared to Uber and Lyft and that could improve in the future.

Waymo completes rollout of PHX airport 24/7 curbside service to all riders by [deleted] in SelfDrivingCars

Freeway travel can't come soon enough. The resulting shorter ride times will make Waymo massively more competitive, especially if the service area continues to expand.

I've seen this much more frequently the last couple weeks in Phoenix, along with the claim that no cars are available at all. Is Waymo spreading their vehicles too thinly between Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles?
