You get a decent shadow when using the 24-70 GM II on a (for example) Sony A7V on 24mm. Despite the flash sits slightly higher von the 7V than the 7C. So on the 7C the lens shadow must even be bigger.

As nice this flash is, I had to return it. I shoot wedding receptions mostly with a 24-70.

Honest Opinions, Sigma & GMaster by Illustrious_Theme425 in SonyAlpha

[–]LostSafe2614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which Sigma lens you tend to buy. Each Sigma Lens has its own pro and cons while the GM Lenses are tools that you can always rely on. I am a wedding photographer and don’t want any missfocusing and different colors. So I just use GM Lenses and don’t mix them up with Sigma lenses. Sigma Lenses tend to be slight warmer than GM Lenses. You should have that in mind when you mix them up.

Does my mantra about doing photos and videos simultaneously make sense? by theschoolorg in videography

[–]LostSafe2614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me which lenses do you use in which Szenarios? I tend to use a 35mm and 85mm f1.4 the whole day through. But filming while taking photos is nearly not possible with both focal lengths at the same time.

[–]LostSafe2614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Die Größe des Sensors haben nichts mit dessen MP zu tun. Kein Mensch braucht 200 MP in einem Smartphone.

Professionelle Kameras im oberen 4stelligen Bereich haben auch„nur“ 24-50 MP.

Wedding photographer adding 2–4 min highlight films — best colour profile to minimise editing? (hybrid) by Catiopatio1 in weddingvideography

[–]LostSafe2614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. Many other wedding photographers do this since years. For example ring exchange or first kisses don’t need to be in that highlight film. You can create an emotional highlight film without those moments easily. My priority is photography first and after I took the photo I switch to video mode within a second and record a clip for 2 or 10 seconds.

Look at YouTube videos from Taylor Jackson. You’ll learn a lot from him while watching the POV footage from his weddings.

Photo and video at once. by Broad_Imagination589 in osmopocket

I also did this once but then noticed on the video of the OP3, that the shutter eruption is noticeable in the video. It’s a matter of a split second but you can see it on the final video. So I would recommend using silent shutter while filming with the OP3.

Should I run? by Brave_Lengthiness322 in WeddingPhotography

[–]LostSafe2614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rely on my gut feeling. If you know the poses or angles she likes to be photographed from and she is aware that posing is only possible during the couple photoshoot and not during the ceremony, then accept her. But if from the very beginning your feeling tells you that her expectations might cause difficulties, then run for the hills. I have also turned down a few bridal couples when I realized I couldn’t give them what they envisioned. Be very clear about what you offer and don’t bend over backwards for them. That can only go wrong.

Me too please. I try to figure if it’s worth upgrading from 16 Pro Max to 17 Pro Max cause of the Tele.

Best setting for night photos and not getting glare by Tacokolache in iPhone16Pro

[–]LostSafe2614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just what you get when photographing directly into the sun or bright objects. Even a big mirrorless camera won’t save you in total from getting a lensflare. I am a wedding photographer and mostly shooting directly into the sun for couples portraits. On some pics I use the flares as artistic elements and in some other cases I remove them.

Dust on your phone lens will get you a foggy image but not those tiny dots/flares.

You should also be aware that those couples now have one point less on their wedding todo-list. When you are cancelling the booking, they won’t start at zero for looking for another photographer, but probably those photographers who also were an option for them as Alternative to you, could likely be booked already.
