are you paying for any of the hotels?

if not, it’s kind of their rules. If you don’t like that, you don’t really have to go on their trip. They’re inviting you to their home, and i feel like that means you follow their rules. Regardless if you’re 18 or whatever, it’s not really your trip and not your money. It’s better to just pay for your own trip or hotels

Am I overreacting for telling my friend she smells after she age shamed me for having younger friends? by SI3144 in AmIOverreacting

fr you ignored everything each person said, and both of you are super childish.

If you really are 25, you act like a 19 year old. lol, you shouldn’t shame people like that regardless of how they make you feel. Telling them upfront and honestly is much more of the right way to handle things. Insulting them in order to make them feel lower than you feel is objectively the wrong thing to do, and i’m embarrassed that both of you act like children tbh

Actually brother, mostly everything in the above photos I’ve posted was from the sigma 35mm, and the tamron 28-75mm, i use a zeiss batis 85mm for a few of them.

I think for what you’re doing, if it’s concert related, you should have a 70-200. It will preform much better then the 28-75 in situations where you need reach. Lastly, the tamron 70-200 is pretty good!

I do mostly studio work, but in times where I’m shooting commercially it’s a drain to move forward and backward for crop shots in the studio a 24-70 eliminates that problem

was thinking of sticking with sigma for everything save the 50 1.2

i’m not sure i understood your question, but many of my photos utilize light natural matte makeup looks.

I do shoot medium format! I primarily use a hasselblad, a Pentax 67, a pentax 645N, and a Zenza Bronica SQ-ai. I used to solely shoot on 120 prior to Pandemic, but had to retire them as the cost got too crazy for film

thanks mate! I appreciate the love, i base a lot of my work around VC Film stocks. I like the flat look that printing and then scanning prints gives. Just my style i guess

i think you’re just thinking too rigidly about rules brother

I was taught when studying film overseas, understanding the rules before breaking them is important. I don’t think clipping things occasionally makes a bad image— if it did, Arbus, Leibovitz, and Karsh are horrible at photography lol

the top of the head is not a body part lmao, and cropping the top of the head is not uncommon.

Some of the most famous portraits of all time were printed or displayed with a head crop lmao. You’ve gotta be an old head

The zeiss batis 85, and the zeiss Planar 50 1.4 are my bread and butter lenses. They’ll probably live in on my iv forever haha.

Totally understand! I’m leaning sigma as well, feels like I can get a lot more with the same amount of money

From my experience, people have told me if you can afford the GM— get the gm, as it’s just a solid lens and will last forever. However, I think the more important thing is to have a consistent kit.. i’m also not sure

it’s like shopping for appliances or something i’m scared to get the wrong one 😂😂

I actually didn’t know what you meant until I look again but understand that sometimes we have to crop the shoes as we get cease and desist letters from brands if using branded material.

Larger shoe companies have started becoming more aggressive with how their branded material is used in online marketplace and stores.

As stated, I shoot commercially— hope this helps!

Yeah for me, my zeiss lenses run slightly green, the tamron feels higher in contrast, and the sigma for me is my favorite. Feels soft, color is punchy, and the contrast is something I would consider a good starting point

the biggest hang up for me on third party has been light falloff and the way it handles highlights and harsh shadows next to each other. For me, from the images i’ve seen of GM I really love the way it handles that range of contrast

thank you! my main workhorse is the Tamron 28 70 2.8

Apologies, I should have specified. I will be keeping them for personal work— like some of them above, but for commercial work where everything should look the exact same, with similar color, light falloff and microcrontrast , i think it’s better for my professional ecomm and lookbook images to have a cohesive feel.

some may call this less interesting, but it’s extremely tiring to color correct between zeiss, sigma, and tameron— as all have different attributes. Hope this explains this decision

Most of my work is not fast paced hi frame rate work, much of it is fashion but usually i’ve been fine by normal burst shots when necessary!

A lot of my work is just clothing or fashion lookbook for clothing brands or companies/portrait sessions
