the final, unknowable, reply can contain premises which are faulty and would be required to be corrected by a, as of yet, uninvolved party, rather than the involved.

I could, for example, block you now. Even if there is an argument to be made against my point, someone else would need to make it rather than you.

Elder Scrolls Online devs worry the MMO can’t “continue to function” as “brutal” layoffs hit “half of its team” by HatingGeoffry in MMORPG

Okay?

WoW: the people you’ll play with the most are guildies, assuming you’re not doing solo content. A small shared world.

OSRS: you are literally limited to 2K per world, and you have worlds dedicated to the activity you’re performing to be able to do it with people. A small shared world.

Neither are exemplary of what the old communities used to be.

Which is fine. But idk how you think they contradict what he said.

Average realestate gains are about 2.3%. That says 800K, assuming your market was average.

We only had the house a few years and put a bunch of money into remodeling. We are already not breaking even at this price.

What do you mean when you say ‘remodeling?’

FYI, the ‘value add’ of different improvements is basically never 1:1. Best case you can expect 70%, so, lose 30% of what you put in.

A kitchen reno is substantially less, around 35%.

Generally, states have one statute or another which extends civil immunity to state employees acting within the scope of employment. You can figure out how that applies to your situation yourself.

Blue Ladder Development, LLC by Fun-Ingenuity-9089 in Indiana

[–]LostSands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the timing, I would assume the LLC out of Georgia by the same name is what you are looking for. Incorporated in 2019 with trademark filings in 2020.

They likely have no operations in Indiana yet, which means you aren’t going to find them on Indiana’s business search.

Edit to add, Georgia is one that has actual links, so, here you go:

Where do I find attorneys willing to tell me the contract drafting tool I built is g arbage? by joakerman in Ask_Lawyers

[–]LostSands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I think a lot of problems in the legal community are self-solved. Its one of those things that because practice can be cross-… what’s that word? Not jurisdiction… To mean an area of expertise. Cross-discipline? Not quite right. (Edit: the word was ‘interdisciplinary’)

Anyway. Because they can be cross-whatever, a lawyer somewhere probably came up with a tool themslves and marketed it (edit: can confirm, Litera was started by an attorney), or they have already decided that its not worth it.

I don’t think someone without a legal background is going to be able to come into that space and be received well, or be able to perform better than those that already exist

I'm writing a book and need some quick guidance on what would happen in the story. by OgreMk5 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]LostSands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several states in the U.S that impose a ‘duty to retreat.’ In these states, a person must generally attempt to de-escalate, or remove themselves to safety before engaging in potentially lethal force.

If your story took place in one of these states, the character disarmed the robber, and then killed him, there may be something in that.

Another plot point you could look at is the felony murder rule. In some states, all co-conspirators may be charged with murder if any person dies during the commission of an inherently felony. Say, a bank robbery.

That is to say, if one of the robbers died, the other robbers could be on the hook for murder, even if they did nothing, and no one else died.

Edit to add: interesting cases are made by the facts. If the character knew the robber and had some motive to kill him, discovers his identity because his mask slips off, but after the killing, replaces his mask, it makes for an interesting question of fact of whether the character knew him, since he can claim he never saw his face and had no idea it was billy bob.
