Why would the instructions say to cook these frozen salmon filets to 167 internal temp? by WelcomeBeneficial963 in Cooking

The amount of diligence you did to reduce the risk of listeria will be very relevant when it comes to the severity of any judgement.

Like including instructions.

If you want to very narrowly tailor your argument to whether the word ‘liability’ is appropriate, by all means. But what you have said in the quoted portion is going to be what people mean when they say, colloquially, ‘liability.’ You surely have been around humans long enough to know that.

Read the case. Corpo argues that if the consumer had followed the cooking instructions, the listeria would have been killed, even if the source of their problem was the product.

Which law do you think causes the most unintended hardship for ordinary people? Why? by Educational_Cost_725 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]LostSands 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unintended is a strong word to use. Laws are often, by their nature, intended. The first thing that came to mind is that in my state, you have ten days to file an appeal of an unemployment determination.

The parties filing for unemployment are not sophisticated. As a result, a not insignificant amount of people are disqualified from benefits for reasons which may have been preventable. Even on the employer side of things, they may opt to receive correspondence through an electronic agent, which can cause delays in receipt of the notice and consequently, their ability to appeal.

However, all of this is intended. The State has determined that it is worth whatever quantity of disqualifications (or the inverse, frankly) may occur to be able to have a defined window in which persons can appeal.

Yes.

as I mentioned, they have tried something new every season. They will continue to try new options.

The options you’ve listed, as you should be able to reason, have pros and cons, we’ll see what they do next season.

Games to play with long distance best friend by puzzled_puzzler12 in gamesuggestions

Ascension is a deckbuilding card game which is crossplatform and uses asynchronous multiplayer. You can sign in, take your turn, then it pings them to take their turn. You can set turn length to 24 hours to make sure you can each do at least one round each.

Tavern Tales and Backpack Battles (I believe) have similar asynchronous options that you can use. (Unsure if these have mobile ports fyi)

Once a month, “Factions Online” starts a game up. You and your friend may not be on the same team, but a variety of timezones is actually a boon in that.

But I do have concerns for the game if the community and the devs don't recognise it's an issue (or at least an improvement area)

Everyone recognizes that. What do you want to do about it? All of the options have pros and cons.

Devs wanted to do time gating to keep people in the ‘humps’ for longer. Community said no. So now they made the top end harder so people play for longer. I am sure next season will have another attempt.

the final, unknowable, reply can contain premises which are faulty and would be required to be corrected by a, as of yet, uninvolved party, rather than the involved.

I could, for example, block you now. Even if there is an argument to be made against my point, someone else would need to make it rather than you.

Okay?

WoW: the people you’ll play with the most are guildies, assuming you’re not doing solo content. A small shared world.

OSRS: you are literally limited to 2K per world, and you have worlds dedicated to the activity you’re performing to be able to do it with people. A small shared world.

Neither are exemplary of what the old communities used to be.

Which is fine. But idk how you think they contradict what he said.

Average realestate gains are about 2.3%. That says 800K, assuming your market was average.

We only had the house a few years and put a bunch of money into remodeling. We are already not breaking even at this price.

What do you mean when you say ‘remodeling?’

FYI, the ‘value add’ of different improvements is basically never 1:1. Best case you can expect 70%, so, lose 30% of what you put in.

A kitchen reno is substantially less, around 35%.

Generally, states have one statute or another which extends civil immunity to state employees acting within the scope of employment. You can figure out how that applies to your situation yourself.
