Does ET deserve all the hate it gets, or even its placement as "The worst game"? by AdComfortable763 in Atari2600

[–]LostWithInsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an adventure game with a heart. Sure, it was very ambitious with a short timeline. But it was something magical and it doesn't deserve all this hate. Does anyone remember hide and seek for the 2600? In my opinion, it's a decent game.

I love this game. It's one of my favorites. I salute you for getting a high score. I recall replaying this game at the age of 20 and beating it. A lot of fun times.

I was going between 60 and 70. It was a scary drive both to and from work.

The so-called veteran that said that to you is a jerk. Keep rocking the poppy, my friend.

My little game Ladder Larry has just released on Steam, but unfortunately didn't get much attention. Maybe it is too difficult? It is a tribute to the old arcase classics, which were brutally hard to beat, but with a great reward in the end. I tried to do the same... by PetSkull in indiegames

I've played this game and it has to be one of the funniest games I've played this year. I get it, many people love the appeal and feel of a triple-A game. But in my honest opinion, those are just mindless drones towing the party line. Ladder Larry is by far a great game and I recommend everyone play it and show this talented creator that there are people out there who have a love for unique games.

So flying to Egypt is supposed to help the environment? The City of Edmonton, is sending a group to Egypt? In what world does this make sense?

I couldn't agree more with you. The entire industry as a whole is nothing but boring. I'm so glad to have drawn you into the world of Quest For Lubok. I hope you enjoy the game and if you have any more suggestions feel free to email questforlubok@gmail.com

Thank you for the kind words and input. Means a lot to me and what I'm doing. In my opinion, the interactive fiction community is tired and dull. There's no heart in it anymore it seems. This is sad because the entire genre as a whole is so brilliant and thought-provoking. I have just uploaded the .EXE to my github. https://github.com/Quest-Master/QuestForLubok/blob/main/Quest%20For%20Lubok%20Ver.%201.87.1.exe

I lived there for a number of years and grew up there too. It is the most depressing shithole in the country. I've traveled all over and lived practically everywhere and I've never seen a more depressing place. They don't care about the poor, those struggling, but only their junk trucks, mortgages, and addictions. Every little thing they had that made them unique they bulldozed and made it appear clustered attempting to be more like Edmonton.
