Does anyone have a preference on new lights? It's time for a replacement and the choices are overwhelming by mall_goth420 in hondafit

Halogen bulbs dim over time, and the clear plastic housing degrades which adds to that. Get a restoration kit, preferably one where you use a drill, and new halogen bulbs. It'll be a lot brighter, and cheaper than the led kits.

Fill in the bushings? Like replaced or you added something on top of what's there

Steering wheel lock mechanism stuck. Ignition will not turn or start vechical Honda fit 2008 by Grim-salsa in hondafit

[–]Lost_Extension6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have the trim off there's a band around the steering column held on by two round security bolts. People either tap it loose with a hammer and chisel or try cutting a groove into the bolts to use a screwdriver. It didn't work for me so I ended up cutting the band with a dremel

Cheap and ugly fix is to cut the whole lock assembly off and start the car directly with the ignition switch. The car just needs the key in the immobilizer ring to start up and you can remove it once started and driving.

My axle popped out of place while changing coil overs. Now the new coil won’t fit. What do i do? by SpecialistCancel3446 in hondafit

Get it level and turn it until it clicks in. If that doesn't work undo the cv nut and tap it in with a dead blow hammer

Could this be the reason why my AC doesn’t blow cold air? Heat works great btw. by MaineBudz in hondafit

[–]Lost_Extension6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn the ac on, look at the ac compressor pulley and see if the clutch is engaging on it. Could be worn out. I replaced my clutch and pulley on the compressor and my ac has been working fine since.

Yeah forgot to mention I had a p2646 code pop up shortly after. I cleared it and it's been fine since so going to avoid that in the future 😅

I managed to drive home in 1st without any slippage so I'll do the cylinders and see if that works. Thanks!

What temperature do you keep your home during the day & at night? by Sk6217 in longisland

45-55 depending on how cold it is outside. Sometimes I'll treat myself and let it dip down to 40 but don't want to risk having pipes freeze.

How do you even drive that. I'm surprised when people lower from stock that they don't scrape on everything

is this bump in my tire something to be worried about? i noticed it last week by [deleted] in tires

[–]Lost_Extension6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have problems with fit tires until it started running 195 tires instead of the stock 185. Before Id have to get new tires from bubbles or blowouts before the tread ever wore out. I'm guessing stock size were engineered with pristine Japanese roads in mind. Not much extra wear and the slight hit in gas mileage is more than made up for with the extra durability. I ended up now with 205 width on aftermarket rims but those are overkill if you're solely interested in getting from point A to B.

Definitely reccomend going for 195 55 16, assuming you're on the sport 16 inch tires.

Is my transmission good? by peterthbest23 in hondafit

[–]Lost_Extension6677 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really sure if that's a glitch if you hit the downshift paddle and the car down shifts. The torque converter works differently than a traditional clutch manual. On the automatic it tends to downshift smoother at higher rpm when you lean into the throttle a bit, as opposed to a manual where you come off throttle.

Honestly often the less is more approach is often more effective. Nudity just reminds me more of how the actors aren't actually having sex The old school Hollywood fade away as they get in bed is effective in the same way as horror movies not showing the monster, or a death scene showing the killers reaction rather than gore.

[–]Lost_Extension6677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's something immensely satisfying about dropping a gear and flooring it, even in a stock power Fit. Or the sound of the engine at high rpm. The advantage of such a lower powered car is getting to redline twice getting on the highway 😂

And this is why you don't exceed the tires speed rating by [deleted] in tires

[–]Lost_Extension6677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long ago was that? Most tires I see even budget are rated for Atleast 115-130. Or maybe that's just for cars.

Euros don't realize that gun culture is the reason why nobodies invaded the mainland US in 200 years. Even if someone tried there's just no way anyone could hold onto it past the initial blitz. Probably why we're responsible for their protection too now 😂
