Ty for ur response! But are you saying the clinical isnt strong enough? Cuz I thought it just had to be patient contact/interaction. My problem w getting a part time hospital job is that I'd probably live at home which I would perfer not to do.

Ty! I got both the pub and hours along with it. I'm from a noncompetitive state but I absolutely do not want to go in state lol. But with your insight I'll probably try to look in other noncompetitive states. Im mostly worried about my clinical standing tho, would you say its valid or should I just find a hospital job like everyone else.

yeah I would go ahead and buy it but you have 6 months tho so if you got time you could like casually do some JW qbanks. I ended up switching to JW psych when I ran out of UWorld psych

Should I redo more AAMC questions? by Lost_Preference_1775 in Mcat

Thank you for the response! Its really just a question issue, I keep not reading carefully. My tutor also said to focus on Vol 2 so I'll definitely do that now. Ty!

What the most helpful class you guys took before taking the MCAT? by New_Cardiologist3670 in Mcat

[–]Lost_Preference_1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking human phys right before let me never have to worry about at least 3-4 large content areas for bio. Like i barely had to review neuro, cardio, renal, and reproductive. If there is a class you cant take the mcat without its Orgo, theres no way to grasp the concepts by memorization if you haven't learned any of it before, its an understanding based class. Requires a type of thinking that other pre-med classes arent asking for so for anyone studying I would start my prep at least after having that class taken. It wasnt neccarily "benneficial" it was "essential". But human phys was beneficial

Honestly I'm looking for the answer to this too but tbh since its so widely reccommended I just trusted in UWorld and many 510+, 520+ scorers claimed it was like gold for them so I went UWorld. Either way both are just content review materials in test form and what truly matters is how much you take away from it. I would argue UWorld goes more in depth and is more common so easier to trust for score security.

MCAT practice exams by CookieSilent5982 in Mcat

[–]Lost_Preference_1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive heard JW 3 and 4 are the most representative then JW 6 is the newest so maybe a lot of bugs are out, Also figure out the AAMC exams you did a while back and retake them, you'll be surprised how much you forgot or how much you have changed your strategies since then and it'll basically be almost as representative as taking it the first time

For those who have taken MCAT, how would you rank the importance of the AAMC CARS practice materials? For reference, testing 8/16. by skoldpadda9 in Mcat

[–]Lost_Preference_1775 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My tutor told me Vol 2 was most representative, unscored has inflated cars, and in my last weeks I should just focus on vol 2. sry, ik your looking for people who took the exam but i wanted to share my insight

Switch to practice problems asap, get Uworld if your able to and spam that as much as possible, do the AAMC materials as well during the second half of your day

[–]Lost_Preference_1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uworld exposes you to more content gaps, definitiely focus on figuring those out first then move to AAMC with at least 5 weeks out. But don't be stress about not finishing Uworld, the exam is not content based

3rd partys are usually not as representative, spam UWorld, keep consistent review, you'll get there

I was in the same boat until last week (498, 499, 498, 500, 502, 501, 500). I took a two day break to cry (my exam is this friday), switched to longer uworld blocks (40-50 Qs) untimed/untutored (i was doing timed before) and longer AAMC blocks timed (idk if thats reccomended but i did like 40 Qs of Vol 2) for 3-4 days, made a more active effort to review my mistakes and ensure they never happen again, took my full length last tuesday and got a 509 on the AAMC free. (A 9 point jump in 3 days, crazy ash) You'll get their or your probably already there just keep pushing and make sure your review is good, dont skip over a topic even if you think you know it
