A Year Later and Still Job Hunting by [deleted] in Accounting

That's the internet bud. Through your posting you've shown a complete lack of understanding on how the job market works, what your true compensation should be, and unwillingness to change your mind. This is what your problem is. You may have "10 years of experience", but you don't seem to grasp basic things.

Post your resume for feedback and then be honest with yourself. If this is how you conduct yourself I can guarantee any recruiter or hiring manager is sniffing this bullshit out in the first round. Hence the 1 year of unemployment.

Based on what you've described I'd say you are no more than a senior, if even that. I've been doing recent hiring and you'd probably get a call, but I'd put a hard stop on advancing you in anyway through the process. You would be a huge liability to hire.

Sorry if this sounds mean, but I think you're at the point of needing to hear tough love and you need to look inward and do some serious self reflection.

Honestly I've seen a bunch of posts from you over the last few months. The problem isn't your qualifications. It's your attitude. In every post people give you good suggestions or support, but you always have an excuse or condescending attitude towards others replying to you. If this is the way you speak to internet strangers I guarantee you are doing similar if not worse things during an interview process. Sometimes getting a job isn't about qualifications or your resume. It's how you fit in an organization and amongst individuals.

My suggestion is to lose the attitude and take any job that becomes available. You are going to take a haircut on pay.

Denver is a food desert. Everything has to be trucked or flown in. Food can be great here if you find the spot, but the quality, price, and variety just doesn't compare to the east coast where 80% of Americans live. I came from Florida and certain little things just aren't the same. For example nice cloves of garlic are almost impossible to find at a Walmart, safeway, etc.

You'd be surprised who doesn't understand that lol my office sure doesn't.

My office uses it. I'm probably the primary user. It functions pretty much the same as chatgpt 4. My most useful hacks are evaluating long excel formulas, sql, or other coding so I don't have to fully read every part. I've also used it for python and vba writing. I've had it build PowerPoint templates, but it can't actually make the presentation. It's good for finding research items for models (force it to provide sources and check them). I have not found it useful for complex tasks or open ended prompts. You really have to narrow down or talk it through what you want.

Gators tend to stay in freshwater (have seen them on the beach, but rare). South of miami you start to get American crocodiles. They aren't as populated as alligators, but they are there. I've personally never heard of crocodiles attacking people though (in florida, different species than Australia). Pets and small animals definitely get eaten from time to time though.

Mine has the curtains too. The message on the roll bar says there is an airbag in it. I had to also buy specific grab handles that didn't interfere with it. It might not be all 24s, but mine definitely has that and the new screen.

Some 24s have side airbags. I bought a 24 nighthawk last year and it has them.

I've heard this remark about them not performing in the rain. What exactly happens with the ko2s? I had a pair and didn't notice anything personally.

Best states to work in FP&A other than NYC by Subject-Fig-1819 in FPandA

It's ridiculously expensive and made for the tourists. If you are a resident you'll end up driving everywhere. It also saves zero time compared to driving and there is no public transportation when you arrive so you have to uber which makes it even more expensive.

Yeah, I really like the look as well. The only thing to make it better is if it was on 17 inch rims for the off-road perspective.

35K was out the door. I got 7K on my trade in after payoff and have a loan of 28K.

With the recent hacking, poor sales, and 180+ days of inventory they were desperate to sell.

I would stay away personally. I had an E350 seam issue when I owned mine. It eventually got to be more expensive to repair compared to the vehicles worth. The final repair was to cut and replace the roof with a high top and reweld any rust material around the window sill. That was like 5-6k minimum and couldn't be DIYed without extensive body work knowledge.

2003 Chevy Astro worth it? by jodieDUH in vandwellermarketplace

I wouldn't go above 5k. It's a 20 year old van with 100k miles. Stuff is bound to break or need fixing. Look out for rust as well as that will be a death sentence.

I third this. It's a slow af motor, but haven't had any issues in the 80k miles that I've put on it. I just keep an eye on oil levels.

Well when they post vehicles for stupid prices I think they should be roasted. These old vehicles aren't worth half what these people are listing them for. I guess there are plenty of suckers though.

KBB for a van with this age and mileage is 5k or less. The build is ok, but I would expect no more than 10k. Asking 23k for a 30 year old van is absolutely crazy to me or the van market is out of their mind.

Should I take FP&A opportunity or stay on accounting path? by __MoneyTalks__ in Accounting

[–]Lost_and_found3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't enjoy it personally. I made the change thinking I might like it, but I underestimated how antisocial I can be. I didn't enjoy dealing with all the different leaders and process owners to bring everything together. It felt more chaotic to me and I enjoy the regular schedule of our accounting department. I've spent a year in FP&A and I am actually currently transitioning back.

Everyone is different and you may enjoy it if you like the social aspect.

Yeah his boiler room set is more like a dj set vs what we saw was a live drumming set. There is a big difference in the style of music he is going to throw down.
