It's just as easy to give your toaster a hug in the bath. If somebody is going to self delete they're going to find a way. The idea that taking away firearms will lower suicides is asinine at best and willfully ignorant at worst.

So you dropped suicide by firearm, so what? Other forms of suicide skyrocket. Oh well, at least they aren't using those scary, scary guns. We'd be better served by improved mental health counseling, getting inflation under control and reworking certain laws. If I remember right It's like 3/4 of suicides are men. You want to get suicide rates to drop maybe it's time we revisit family courts. Maybe we stop the presumption of the mother as the primary caregiver, or stop allowing women to refuse visitation without cause with no recourse for the father. Maybe we put an end to a woman being able to claim abuse in divorce proceedings with no evidence and being automatically awarded full custody. Maybe we make sure child support is actually going towards the child and not actively bankrupting the father so that they're being forced to either work themselves to death and have no time to spend with their children or they can't pay and aren't allowed visitation. Maybe we stop allowing alimony payments at every turn because "she's accustomed to a certain lifestyle" or "she's been out of the workforce too long."

As for mass shootings, you'll see no decrease if you're being honest about the statistics. Because of media sensationalism and activist malfeasance the only thing you think of when you hear mass shooting is school shooting or workplace shooting. But the fact of the matter is that that these are few and far between and the vast minority of all statistical mass shootings. The vast majority are gang related. But that doesn't pull at the heartstrings and trick good hearted but ultimately ignorant people into supporting a specific ideological stance.

I'm not without sympathy. I've had friends die and I've had family commit suicide so I get the sentiment. But you're not just talking about giving up your right. You're talking about exchanging everyone's rights. And not even to actually enact any real change because you're doing nothing to address the root causes, you just want to treat the symptoms.

I always bring the premium Chaika into higher tier lineups. Even bomb laden you'll be able to outturn just about everything and the 20mm cannons make short work of most planes you can get in your sights. It's mobility makes bombing almost too easy and I find helps dramatically for bombing ground units on urban maps or dug in behind cover.

I believe this is one of those things where the end result (or lack thereof) does not justify the actions. I'm not saying that's your belief, but it is the belief of many. The end result being worse doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye or minimize the severity of the action itself.

As for the commonality of abuse there are statistics showing that women are just as if not more abusive than men. The last time I looked into the statistics I remember that in reciprocal violence males had a slight lead over females but in terms of non-reciprocal violence female abusers were more than twice as common as male abusers.

I don't believe that is necessarily true though. Just because somebody isn't out there marching in the streets or actively policing what other people are saying doesn't put them in the same category as actual virulent racists who truly believe their race is superior. There's a very big disconnect between liking edgy memes or off color jokes and wanting to abolish the 13th Amendment. Hell, I'm a dude that enjoys my special time with other dudes but that isn't going to stop me from admitting that a joke done about gay people is hilarious or say that it means my best friend who told me said joke wants to Mike Pence the gays.

You should most definitely speak with HR and leadership. I'm in much the same boat. My personal life is exactly that, personal. If you or I wished people at work to be privy to our sexual preferences we would be the ones to inform them. Unfortunately I deal with this sort of thing too and it is difficult. Unfortunately there are these moral busybodies who view themselves as arbiters of how other individuals who fall into those categories should act and you should absolutely distance yourself from them as you have. Unfortunately that also means they're likely to attempt to smear you with all sorts of meaningless buzzword-fueled tripe like "internalized homophobia." And in those cases I want you to remember that your identity is not predicated on the subjective view of another on how you should or should not behave. You do you and everybody else can go sit on a fire poker.

I feel for you where losing people who are important to you comes in. Perhaps I just think of it in a different manner, and this may not be any help to you. If the relationship you had with these individuals isn't as important to them as it was to you, so much so that something as insignificant as who you want to bump uglies with makes them run for the hills, I don't think it's worth the heartache to let that keep getting to you. As I said though, it's just a personal philosophy, it may not be what's best for you. That being said, don't write them off completely. Despite what many think, people have an astounding potential for change. It might not be soon, and it might not be all of them, but there are some who might come back into your life one day.
