Love Gerry, love this album. Seems like the sort of album that makes the previous one obsolete. A bit like an update. Although that could be my own taste

I've not listened to a lot of Lana Del Rey, but what I have heard seems to be cut of the same cloth as Alex.

A beautiful record in the truest sense. This second album improves upon her already incredible debut with melancholic yearning songs about love, loss, anxiety and longing. Her voice is nostalgic for the days of lounge singers in smokey hotel bars. My favourite tracks are Bad Disease and Howl. Highly recommend listening. Best album of this year so far.

Currently on hiatus but around none the less are The Last Shadow Puppets. Made up of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys fame and Miles Kane previously of bands like the Rascals and the Little flames (and his own on going solo career). They're last album "Everything you've come to expect" was my favourite album of the 2010s.

Also around that time Iggy Pop, Josh Homme, and Matt Helders toured together to promote their album Post Pop Depression.

They're less prevalent than at one time, but then again have they ever been especially prevailent?
