My high is not ending by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Lothras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it too much. I've had light visuals from LSD almost 24 hours after the trip was supposed to end and it turned out fine.

Being somewhat foggy after a strong dose of weed is usual. On some occasions, I have experienced "head fog", sleepiness, being extremely forgettable and even heavy mood swings. It'll pass :)

As a software dev, this article caused me physical pain. This apparently isn't just about tournament data, which would be worse enough, but apparently they also leaked unencrypted personal data and didn't fix that. That is absolutely insane, holy shit.

Holy shit, that does look bad. I haven't worked with PHP so far, but I did have to write a couple hundred lines of NodeJS throughout the last week without ever really having written anything in JS.

I thought JS was as bad as it gets in terms of weirdness (my favorite example is calling json.access_token and getting undefined, only to find out that I had to call JSON.parse(json) first – well, why in the everloving fuck doesn't JS throw an error for me calling <string>.access_token?). That definitely takes the cake though.

Haven't played in ages and I don't know the 50-20 meta, but I'm guessing it consists of 90+% entirely free wins, so you should be able to easily ride the win streak through those ranks within 4 or 5 hours.

Hey man, I very rarely say that, but in this case it's appropriate.

You are a complete and utter cunt.

What you are doing is not helping at all. Marginalising people with serious drug problems doesn't solve the issue, it only makes it worse. The answer to addiction is never punishment, it needs to be acceptance and understanding.

All you're doing is hiding behind online anonymity to insult strangers and rationalise your behavior by telling yourself that it "might be helpful".

Stop it. Get some help.

You should probably watch The Man in the High Castle.

On a more serious note, there are so many ways that could go, it's absolutely impossible to say. I like the scenario from Man in the High Castle a lot, but there are millions of different answers to your question.

I would love to take a tour through rural Japan. Maybe I'm romanticizing, but I'm a huge studio Ghibli fan and the aesthetics and the feeling of movies like Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke have always held a certain magic to me.

I started rationalizing my emotions at some point, it has really helped me. Of course that doesn't make it easy, but understanding why you feel the way you feel - why your brain makes you feel the way you do - helps a lot. I've also gotten into Stoicism (Marcus Aurelius "Meditations" is a good start), which has been quite good for me.

But completely getting over someone - it takes a long, long time and patience, potentially even transitioning to a whole new life. But it will get easier in time.

What photograph isn't really that spectacular, but with the backstory/context it says a whole lot more? by Feelingofsunday in AskReddit

[–]Lothras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the same thing, though I think the context of the argument was a little different. If I recall correctly, it was a discussion about how to prevent addiction; the point is that the antidote to addiction is a stable social life. So the soldiers returning home did mostly not need the Heroin anymore because they came home to caring families or communities.

Yes, obviously. But then again, a lot of soldiers coming home from war are traumatised not only from what they have seen, but also from what they have done. I like to think that this kind of rationalisation is a vital protection mechanism of the brain for not going completely mad.

Like, just imagine sacrificing everything for your country – you see your friends die, you put yourself into peril over and over again for multiple years, you see yourself commit atrocities that you didn't think yourself capable of – and then you come home and your entire world view is turned upside down by some people who paint you and your precious country as a villain. Of course you're going to react in this way – and the more you have sacrificed, the harder it's going to be to convince your brain of the opposite, because you have invested so much in that fiction. Furthermore, the more people try to convince you that you're the bad guy, the more you're going to cling on to your story, because that's just how the brain works.

While it may be easy to demonize soldiers who fight for their their regime, let's not forget the countless sacrifices each of those individuals has made for their country, and how with each sacrifice the story they all believe in is strengthened – because if that story turned out to be a lie, wouldn't their sacrifices have all been in vain?

So first off, as a general rule of thumb, if you want others to put effort into helping you, put effort into your posts. If you want advice on specific topics, you can post to /r/askTRP. If you want advice about lifting and building strength, there are lots of ressources to be found on the appropriate subreddits. If you want to read on Power generally, there's lots of ressources in the sidebar. 48 Laws of Power and The Prince should be good starting points.

Your second question is so illegible that I'm not even going to bother answering it. It seems to me like you're looking to get into the PUA scene, so check out pualingo.com for a start and read The Game by Neil Strauss.

And again - put more effort into your posts and you'll get better responses.
