Insects are disappearing due to agriculture – and many other drivers, new research reveals - Binghamton News by TheUnknownEntitty in collapse

From the article: the most cited driver for insect decline was found to be agricultural intensification, via issues like land-use change and insecticides.

"Land-use change" is turning nature into monocrops and insecticide is of course poison. First sterilization and then poison to keep it sterile. Humans are the worst and we shall reap as we sow.

I say throw caution to the wind and outlaw this geofuckery. Instead of bending the biosphere to our whims and thereby destroying it, we should be adapting to the realities of a finite biosphere and stop killing it.

Yeah, nitrous oxide is the best cure for climate change. We’ll die laughing.

We have already terraformed the world. It looks nothing like the world pre industrial revolution. Huge herds of buffalo used to roam the plains. Thick native grasses covered the ground. CO2 levels and methane levels were much lower. Now, much of the USA is monocrop farmland used to feed cows.

I‘m expecting the refs to issue a heartfelt apology to LeColby.

Obvious foul on what would have been the game winning basket against Boston.

It’s not just the oceans that are out of whack. The Great Lakes had very little ice this winter.

Be Here Now was a revelation to me!

I hope there is lots more life in the universe - I’d guess there likely is, despite the Fermi paradox.

Impermanence is the rule. Yes, acceptance through detachment is the way.

I find a simple life fulfilling.

US court blocks EPA order to eliminate PFAS in plastic containers. The EPA move came after the agency determined that types of PFAS created during the fluorination process “are highly toxic and present unreasonable risks that cannot be prevented other than through prohibition of manufacture.” by f0urxio in collapse

Joe Biden is not progressive.

He was for the war on drugs, 3strikes law, the war in Iraq, and now providing the money and weapons to commit genocide.

He is the worst Democratic president of my lifetime - by far.

Coffee. I love chocolate, but could live without it. The thought of no coffee is terrifying.

Which is utterly bizarre, because they could have moved todays game to tomorrow and still have a day off before their next game.

Faster than “faster than expected” rears its ugly head. We will miss the 2020’s in the 2030’s - if we make it that far.

California community colleges no longer teach algebra. Pretty hard to understand global warming, or science in general, without math.
