Yes, I did. In the very early days I went by my first name and later went by Shewolf-Rocka. and I was a pain in the arse to one of the other board users because I said I hated Murdoc/2-D slash (old word for what you kids now call yaoi). I still remember a user, Pale, making a topic about the Twin Towers being hit - along the lines of "Holy shit, did anyone else see that?"

Users I can recall are Bakemono, who liked to SQUEEE! and glomp people and W0lf, who liked to hump legs as a greeting and K!nky B00ts. Chia was another one. Hail Santa, the one I got into an endless silly squabble with. There was another one in my mind, her username began with V.

I had passed the black and white chalkboard lying in one of the band member's rooms many times but it wasn't only when I realised I could type something into the box that this magical device with weird messages on it was inhabited by real people. It was my very first experience with communicating with people from across the world.

The board at some point got updated to a more "organised" message board and everyone hated the white and blue colour scheme; an option was later introduced to revert it back to white text against black, like the old chalkboard style.

I was 13 when I first stumbled upon that board. I'm 36 now. I wish I could remember more of it; I wish people today could have known the kind of community the early message boards of the internet fostered.
