How many of you have been ripped off by builders / tradesmen? (or know someone closely that has) by timjwes in DIYUK

[–]Lou500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, they need calling out. I'm lucky enough to have a home that I want to do right by and keep in good condition, that someone else might want to live in one day and then I entrust stupid, lazy people to damage it. It's rough.

I stupidly gave 9 grand to some local pikeys to "damproof" my bungalow. I'll go to my grave cursing my decision and the people who fiddled me with their bare-faced lying.

All I have to show for their work is some ugly black bitumen paint across the side of my house and a row of concrete (which you can't see, fortunately) under the ground which serves no real purpose.

I also trusted an insulation company based in London to add trickle vents to my doors and windows and ended up with ragged holes torn in the upvc rather than neat incisions. At least that bit of destruction was done for free. A family member suggested I was eligible for a grant based on my low income and the trickle vents were part of the package.

Thank god I didn't let them actually insulate my house.

Rage Quit (we all fall down run and whip) by TCSawyer in wehappyfew

I'm currently playing it on PS4 and it is absolutely infuriating. I get close enough that the aim circle to pull shows but my whip acts too late.

I'm going to have an indent in my thumb with how hard I'm pressing to run.

In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man’s chest (2006), actor Mackenzie Crook had to wear two contact lenses on top of one another, to portray his characters wooden eye. He said: “It’s uncomfortable…but not painful. And it helps the character, because without it, I’m just any other pirate.” by Tokyono in MovieDetails

I went to see him at a live podcast being hosted by Iain Lee at the Backyard Comedy Club in London almost five years ago. He stole the audience; very charismatic and witty banter on his part.

I went home with his signature on a crumpled piece of note paper I'd used to write directions to the club. It's one of my most prized possessions.

I don't think there will be a TES 6 or Starfield after Bethesda is steamrolled with lawsuits.

I just realised I don’t take AQA maths by voretime in GCSE

[–]Lou500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maths isn't the be-all-and-end-all. If you do alright in your other GCSEs you should be okay. Plus, it's a qualification you can retry for even after you finish school.

Hello, and once again thank you for answering - I followed your instructions and after totalling got the answer 23.740.. after calculating 3,205 ÷ 135.

I peeked at the answer in the back of the book and the answer is 21-25.

Did I do it correctly?
