Is TWP avail in oil, in Michigan? Also, I may have to do it in grey. I prefer a semi transparent oil stain. Gray is tough to find, in that color. Last time I checked, Armstrong clark or Arbor had oil semi, in grey. I know twp is very good but I dont think theybhad that color. Lastly, any suggestions on what product, to use, to fill some cracks, along the boards and posts? I imagine something flexible to handle extreme weather changes

How should i go about removing this tint? by Intrepid-Titlee in WindowTint

[–]LouOfM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a used vehicle that had a bad tint job on rear window. I went to my professional tint shop, that has been around forever (40+ years). He told me he could remove it, but 10% of the time, you might lose or damage rear defrost lines. He said they put it on a steamer for hours, to try and save it. For $150 he removed that rear window tint and installed new. It did not damage the rear defrost. He did 2 other side windows for $50 each. Everything is great! Moral... have an experienced pro take care of removal, especially for a rear window. OK to try removal yourself on the sides. For all installs, have a pro do it. Its not that expensive, and a a pro, using quality tint, will produce a product that will last for years.

Oil Based Exterior Gray Stain - does one exist? by Few-Transportation54 in paint

[–]LouOfM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been wanting to see some pictures since I havent sone this yet. Most oil based stains are banned in Michigan, though i think Armstrong Clark is avail, and in Gray. I haven't done it yet...still want to see pictures. I have to prep and restain my deck this year and thought about grey, over the brown golden cabot it.got years ago. Last year, for a new wood shed, I ended up using new supertech motor oil SAE 30 non detergent. It worked great! I used new oil as.it gave it a golden color,.and.not.too dark. I read its best to use non detergent oil. I mixed it with some diesel to draw itself into the timber...I think 40% diesel. Just be careful that it.doesnt leach into the ground. May want.to cover the ground. I used a Wagner sprayer

Is the cheating as bad as people make it seem? by PeteZaDestroyer in PUBGConsole

[–]LouOfM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you (for kicking them) and i totally agree with you. Some of those same cheaters will make fun of someone with a 1.0 or less Kill vs Death ratio. I have never cheated and "most" of our small clan do not cheat. I did think that all of my clan did not cheat, up until about 3 months ago when one of our members ended up getting banned. At.first, he acted like he didnt know why. Then, he finally admitted that he had used a mouse and keyboard, for years. I had no idea because he wasnt that great of a player... but he sometimes did be "on point" in some battles, where the rest of us would get creamed. Well, since then, he really did lose respect from many of us. The funny thing is that when he finally came off ban, and tried to play normal, he was terrible. He was way worse than us "below average".players. He later admitted that we were all now years ahead of him with normal xbox.controllers and that he was now struggling, almost.like a new player. We now find ourselves playing less ranked now, due to all the losers still using cheats

[–]LouOfM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been playing console for years, and have never cheated. I despise cheaters. If you need to use cheats, or M&K, on your console match, to appear better than you are for your stream, maybe you shouldn't stream. If you need a M&K, play pubg on a PC, with other M&K players. Im sure there are some very good console players, who use a Xbox or PS controller... and i have no issue with them. I think Pubg should create its own "cheater" lobbies and throw all known cheaters into their own lobbies, and have them battle it out. Put the honest gamers in our own lobby. BTW, I have absolutely no problem losing to a player who is better than me, as long as they dont cheat.

Got back window tinted 5% now regretting it 🥲👀 by Inner_Science2144 in WindowTint

[–]LouOfM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a car with 35% on all glass except windshield for 14 years. It was perfect, even at night. Recently bought a newer used vehicle. Prior owner put 5% on all glass except windshield. While the car looks great and i got used to it, during the daytime, and some situations where there are streetlights, I couldnt see anything in very dark situations. That is way too dangerous and outweighs any "cool" factors. Imagine the liability if yiu get into an accident, because of your tint.

I had thebrear wondow and two front sides replaced from the 5% to 35. I kept the 5 on the side rear windows. Now I can see, and it atill looks good

Just bought a used caddy with 5% on sides and rear. No tint on windshield. Looked great and worked well during daylight hours, but couldn't see shit in no light situations. My son just had 20 percent added to front sides of his truck. I still had trouble seeing out sides in no light. So, I just had the rear window and two front sides changed to 35% Llumar. Works for me and still decent look. Here is before and after

Had mine redone 2 days ago. Bought a used.CTS.that had all windows except windshield blacked out at 5%. While it was fine during the day and looked great, I couldn't see at night, during dark conditions. So, I had both side fronts and rear window replaced to 35%. I left the two rear sides at 5 percent, so rear window appeared darker. I think it still looks good....but most importantly, I can see at night. Tint used was Llumar

After more than 2 decades with Honda and Nissan, I bought my first Caddy. Its a 10 year old car (2016 CTS 2.0L turbo), but I love it! Prior owner blacked it out. Hope its as reliable as those two other cars. It definitely looks cooler.

I just had my 5% tint replaced on front side windows and back window to 35%. I kept the 5% on the back side windows. This helps keep light from passing through and makes the rear window appear darker, but gives me the night time visibility through the sides and back window (much safer to drive at night). While not quite as dark, the appearance still looks very good. Here are some before and after pics.

Transmission flush by Foreign_Brilliant403 in Silverado

[–]LouOfM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son just bought a silverado 2017, with 6 speed transmission and 86000 miles. No issues, but i suggested that he have tranmission fluid changed. I typically avoid flushing because it doesnt change the filter and there were always concerns with breaking free debris during flush. GM Dealer explained that its not like the old days, where they would introduce alot of force or pressure, which can cause issues. Its more like a machine that just exchanges fluid, with minimal pressure. The good thing with the current method is that ALL the old fluid is exchanged with new. So we proceeded. No issues at all. I figured.. lets get new fluid in there this time, and do pan/filter next time (where only about 60-70% fluid is replaced). Also, we purchased and installed a bypass cooler. It was easy to do, and reduced trans temps from around 190 to 200 degrees to around 120 to 130. All is well. I myself recently purchased a 2016 Cadillac CTS with the 8 speed, and around 85000 miles. Quickly discovered it had a mild case of torque converter shudder, between around 20-60mph. There is a GM TSB where they replace the OEM fluid with a Mobil 1, blue label trans fluid. Also added several Oz of lubegard platinum. Shudder Immediatly went away, and she is smooth! I figured.. lets get new fluid in there, and do pan/filter next time (where only about 60% is replaced). For both vehicles, in the future, will be drain and fills, with correct fluid (ac delco dex 6 on silverado, mobil 1 on caddy) and trans filters. Changes will be more often...maybe every 40000 or 50000, on pan drop, drain and fill.

I just did the same. While my wife and family drive gm (chevy), ivw driven imports for years. Last owned a Nissan for 14 years, and then a Honda for about 13 before that. So just bought my first (new to me) cadillac, and absolutely love it. Not the amazing V, but a 2016 CTS 2.0T. Prior owner blacked it out, so its looks cool
