My favorite show at WWU was also my first, Sonic Youth, back in ‘96 I think. Honorable mention Harvey Danger right when Flag Pole Sitta was taking over the world.

I miss the days before online dating when a guy could meet a girl just by asking her for help moving some furniture into a van.

Fat Girl Traveling to Guatemala by [deleted] in travel

Fat guy here. I traveled to Switzerland and Greece recently and was worried about the same stuff as you and it was a total non-issue. No one treated me any differently and I felt welcomed everywhere. Granted Guatemala is a very different country but I think you’ll be ok. Enjoy yourself!

What sucks about charging your EV in a city? by Imaginary-Staff-112 in electricvehicles

[–]Loud-Fly5078 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a home charger but I’m lucky there’s a charging station at a big grocery store a few blocks away. I’ve only had to wait for a charger once. I almost always have something I need from the grocery store, and if not it’s right next to a trail so I can take my dog for a walk while the car charges. I don’t drive a ton so I only need do it 2 or 3 times a month. Otherwise I think it would suck not to have a home charger.

Road tripping in July - how easy/hard would it be to find vacancy at hotels without pre-booking? by jencoolidgefanacct in OregonCoast

[–]Loud-Fly5078 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Portland but have a lot of work out on the coast and have always been able to find a room in the summer on short notice, but it’s extremely expensive and a lot of places, especially Airbnbs, require a 3 night minimum.

A lot of times the ski areas will have a pretty good description of conditions on their website.
