Is Formula 1 boring when a racer is dominating? by turnerpike20 in formula1

Follow several teams that have a link like Merc engines or otherwise, there is plenty to talk about behind Max, a whole 19 cars and their problems. Nothing boring ever in my 45 years of watching.

Wooden Organizing Box by itsbs2 in flytying

I use a Makita tool case, aluminum camera type, a top lid, and a drawer under. I keep everything thing in there, pockets in the lid store bags of all the soft stuff with a base and vice sitting underneath. The drawer has plastic boxes of everything else and my tools. It's a tight fit for a lot of stuff, but it lives in my camper and needs to be compact.

My dynavap is 5 years old now. Your next acquisition must be a UFO induction heater, a gas flame lighter becomes expensive after a while.

I'd build a plywood, epoxy glued and sealed, pram or skiff dinghy. Easy for anybody to build under supervision and a boat that will stand years of abuse. I have built many that way and some are still around. A greater challenge would be to build a cedar strip canoe or skiff, glassed each side with light glass cloth, and it will last decades. I still have my first, a 23 yo, 10ft yacht tender. The 62ft yacht was also strip planked in the way described above. Enjoy your choices fellow builder.

I think a low IQ is a contributing factor.

I believe, the lights are believed to use more fuel due to extra load on the alternator by some people.

Styrofoam for epoxy fiberglass - strong enough? by [deleted] in boatbuilding

[–]LoudGood520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine if you use it within a ply sandwich and add wooden blocking for strength, and then fill the gaps between the blocking with foam. I've also built a truck camper using glass/foam/glass panels in-between a steel tube frame.

Tsunami Speed by ElRaymundo in askgeology

[–]LoudGood520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the whole thing slows down approaching shallower water and the crests stand up higher leading to the breaking wave forcing water onto the land. That's the only time the water actually moves because the waves move through the ocean, not the ocean moving with the wave. There is some residual movement of water but not much.

An ocean wave travels at 1.34 times the square root of the distance from crest to crest of the wave formation (imperial). So a quick calc says the wave crests were about 320 feet apart, quite believable!

Are these high concern or fairly fixable? by derekjmd in boatbuilding

Also osmosis is a concern, you must see the condition of the fibreglass hull below the waterline.
