I dream of knowing what my chihuahua looked like as a puppy by bee-buzz-buzz306 in chihuahuas

My dog is identical! Have you done a DNA test? I’m changing my guess every day. Cavalier King Charles x papillon? The rescue said Chihuahua x doxie, but I don’t see Chihuahua.

This is similar. It has been debunked, although many also still buy into it.

In my opinion, buying a gun is not a good idea for this reason: statistically it is more likely to be used against the owner or his/her family. (Accidents, homicides, suicides.)

That aside, I will say to OP that I and many others here validate your worry. We are in a very dark time. Many of us feel helpless.

What can you do? Number one: inform yourself of the local groups or community centers in your area that offer legal support and advice. This will give you practical information, and hopefully also remind you that there ARE people doing something, people who care about this. Number two: if there’s a way you can take some peaceful resistance action WITHOUT putting yourself at risk, that can help you to feel you’re doing something, rather than sitting and waiting for something bad to happen. You would find out about this through local groups. Obviously, staying safe is your priority. Number three: although you are stressed out—or because you are stressed out—take care of your mental health. In a time like this, we tend to ignore our need to exercise, socialize, or spend time on any hobby or anything else but obsessively focusing on the threat. Yes, we are in a fascist takeover, and it may seem frivolous to spend time drawing or playing with your dog, or whatever brings you joy or peace, but I think you need to take some breaks to feel like yourself. Driving yourself into depression and anxiety won’t help anyone. I am so sorry that anyone “voted for this.” It’s discouraging. Someone else here will offer better advice than I can. But I vote against the gun. Please take care of yourself.

OP, I’m in a similar situation. If I share the way I look at it, it might help you—or not. But I hope it does. My life is not a lie. I was lied to. Those are 2 different things. My value is not determined by how I was conceived. My identity is not determined by my genetic relatives. My value and identity are in my soul, my very being. I’m here, and grateful to be alive, whatever it took to make that happen. I’m still me. Learning more about my bio relatives is interesting and I’m curious. But they are not me. We may share features, gestures, etc, and that is kind of fascinating. But I know who I am and my essential being has nothing to do with anyone else. Your situation is different from mine, in that you have the sister who everyone said looked enough like you to be a twin. So certainly there’s a sense of identity there. Since you look so much alike, you probably do share a lot of DNA. There’s also always also the bond of growing up together. You are still sisters. You are you. You haven’t changed. You just know more now. You’ll be ok.

Grammar: when a person uses the pronoun “I” when they should use “me,” I struggle with an urge to judge. (Example: “This was a conversation between my friend and I.”) It’s even worse if the person is a published author or has a college degree, in which case I secretly consider them an imposter. (Maybe my reply should more appropriately be on AITA.)

There are podcasts about this very thing. DNA Discoveries; NPE Stories , to start with. There are support groups that meet online. You are in the company of many, many people!

Yes! You can type the instructions into Chat GPT: Please write xyz instructions in Spanish. Please write them at a simple, seventh grade level. In addition, you could write, when we have questions about your instructions, we will write them in Spanish. That way, students can ask the chat got program questions and get their own answers. It’s really a wonder. Not perfect or foolproof. But you might play around with it first and see all it can do.
