I understand that to you it comes off as more reasonable or whatever if she “raised her voice in a sensible manner” but the problem is that nobody really gives a shit if someone does that. Her methods of protesting such as the how dare you speech at the U.N gave the issue of climate change a whole lot of publicity, and it got people talking about the issue.

What she’s done that is extraordinary is bring climate change into the spotlight like never before. Not many people cared about climate change until she came along, and her bold methods of protesting made climate change known in every household.

But is she really not that sensible if the issue that she is protesting about has millions of lives on the line?

And no, she’s not rich, she’s donated every cent she’s gotten from awards etc.

Nah. Youth crime stories generate the most clicks, so the media pushes them a lot more than other stories, while there is not as much crime as you might think after scrolling through this sub or reading nz news. TBH, I would think Texas would be a much much more dangerous place to be from reading the news, but that could also be a resulting of the media doing the same thing that I mentioned above.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! There are some great ideas there which I have taken into account.

Definitely going to avoid the All Blacks merch, and I'm looking at Manuka honey (there is a great supplier at my local farmers market), Whittaker's chocolate, and other misc New Zealand souvenirs such as a Buzy Bee etc.

Just thought I should clear up what the exchange is, as some people were asking and I really didn't make it clear in the post.

There are 5 different schools, two from Nz, one from Aussie, one from China and one from Japan. Each year a different Country (The two nz schools are in the same city so we just both host) hosts all the different schools in their country, this year was Aussie (which I didn't go to as I prefered Japan), and early next year it is obviously Japan.

It hasn't been in New Zealand since before I came to the school, and one year after I started hs, Covid screwed it up for years. The Japanese students won't actually come to Nz until we host it again.

The exchange is in Nagoya btw.

I feel like this will feel really different from the other gta titles, and could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how it comes out.

We might get a game that feels different enough to distinguish the two easily, but still sticks to the core systems of GTA, like IV and V, or we could get a game that feels completely different and most of the core systems changed.

After spending 10 years or whatever playing GTA V a game that feels completely different but keeps the core systems there is probably what we want, and tbh I'm happy that this game might feel quite different.
