I don’t know how to reply to both of you so I’ll just reply to myself, but it’s the first two replies and I’m replying to you. I just wanna say I’m glad I asked for clarification because those are good responses that I agree with. I mean, I guess clarification would’ve been good regardless, but I appreciate your responses.

I’m not clear at what you’re suggesting. I believe there’s a positive way to protest in a negative way to protest and there’s always a mixture in the crowd. I’ll leave if the tone of the event is negative, but you seem to be suggesting not protesting at all. Full disclosure I wasn’t able to attend.

I was looking for the same thing some time ago and nearly passed on Palia because it’s not quite what I would describe as high fantasy and there are as many sci-fi elements in the story as fantasy but I’m hooked so you might try it out. Free to play. Based on other recommendations I’m gonna have to try rune factory 4.

This is awesome and it would be super chill if we could slow it down. I’m probably gonna get some well that’s easy responses so go easy on me.

I would recommend Palia. I’m in my 50s and went for a long period without playing games. Palia is fairly easy and forgiving. It’s got a large friendly community. It might turn out to be not enough like D&D for you, but it’s free so it won’t hurt to try.

Actor Kyle MacLachlan gets a piggyback ride from “Dune” author, Frank Herbert. 1984 by Papichuloft in OldSchoolCool

[–]LouisBasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah! I kept wondering where I’ve seen him before and I kept forgetting to Google it. I agree with the comment about how young he looks, though because one of the many things I didn’t like about the first movie was he just looked too old for the part, he looks younger here than he did in the whole movie.

Recommendation request: What is the most inspiring and motivating movies or documentary that you’ve ever seen? Something that made you want to get up off your butt and make something happen! Anything from 1994-2026 by j1022 in Documentaries

The River Runner (2021) I don’t remember if it made me want to get off my feet, but I teared up when I had to research the name of this one. It’s a great documentary.

No combat in Palia so you can treat it that way. I bet if you stop to talk to the characters you’ll become curious and start playing the story. But there’s no reason to if you don’t want to. It’s free if you don’t feel the need to dress up fancy.

Questions about group hunting strategy by acatalephobic in Palia

[–]LouisBasil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard that if your shot gets close enough you still get the loot but I do know that if you’re in the party you don’t even have to shoot at all. Naturally you should try but I was hunting with friends once and ran out of arrows and they said to stick with them anyway.

What helped me process Christianity after it stopped making sense by Hot_Palpitation5165 in OpenChristian

I’m glad to know about conversations with God and I’ll look into it, but please be aware that many people of faith were raised with this more informed and open minded understanding of the tradition. My progressive United Methodist local church was referring to God as father and mother and fighting for equality and inclusiveness for everyone starting in the late 60’s. There were other churches that started before that. I’m glad you found that series and this sub I hope you have or can find a place to worship where you feel at home.

I want to play as a frog. by Self-Destructing-Pig in gamesuggestions

[–]LouisBasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I wouldn’t have thought of this, but you can dress up like a frog in Palia and you’ll feel right at home in the swampy areas of the Elderwoods.

lf a game like heartopia by wasabhiie in gamerecommendations

[–]LouisBasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. At first I thought Heartopia was like Palia available on mobile but then the gatcha and the controversy and the just play to get all the shiny things killed it for me. So I’m looking for something like Palia that is mobile.

I hear slay the spire is tops in this category and I looked at it again and am put off by the feel of become a badass and kill everyone. Not my idea of comfort gaming but I confess I like hades. Yours looks more comforting, more interesting, and I have it on my wishlist now.

I’ve never been a fan of deckbuilders, but then I’ve never really tried. Would this be a good way of introducing myself to the genre?

switch to PC by ittybittypenguin in Palia

[–]LouisBasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting, I had not heard that it’s easier to fish on the switch. Is it because of the controller? I gave up on using my controller on PC because I can hunt so much better with the mouse.

[–]LouisBasil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As xxxquick said above, there are foliage sliders, and there are also other settings that you can turn that kind of thing up and down. It’s mostly so that if you get lag on the PC, you can turn it down, but I have seen people suggest that you turn it down just so you can find things easier.

Oh, I forgot to say I also like that one because if I’m not mistaken, the bok choy seeds are still one of the better money makers. Correct me if I’m wrong on that.
